The story of Yuusha ga Shinda! or The Legendary Hero Is Dead! if you prefer, features demons, monsters, and zombies, not much time in the movie, we find out that three years ago a hero named Shion sealed the Hell Gate, but as time passes the seal has been awakening and as a result, many of the monsters and demons entered the human world.
When a vast number of monsters and demons arrived at one place in the country, the people of the world find out that there is a serious need for heroes once again in their world.
Yuusha ga Shinda! Episode 1 Recap
Later in the episode, we find out that a young guy named Touka Scott lives in the Southern town of Cheza, and works as a radish farmer and trapper, he loves farming along with his childhood friend as well as neighbor, Yuna, a young and beautiful girl.
As he was living a peaceful life in the countryside, he is nevertheless repaired for the attack of the monsters on earth. We see that along with being a farmer, he also is a genius because he made a hidden pit trap with the help of bamboo spikes to lure unsuspecting monsters if they ever try to harm people or invade them.
Although when a monster attacks the village Touka fails to trap the monster in the hidden hole, with some freshly roasted bacon, fortunately, one of the local heroes shows up at the right time and saves the village from the monster, when the hungry hero tries to grab a bite of bacon after defeating the monster, he gets stumble into the trap made by Touka and die.
After what Touka has done, the people of the country force Touka to take the responsibility of eliminating the monsters from the world, into his hand, be the hero for them, and asked them to occupy the body of the late hero, Shion.
This is why Touka along with the young girl with talked about before, Yuna, and another necromancer girl, Anri, who in fact forced him to the body of the hero, set into an adventure to save people of the world, and at the same time save their faces as well.
