What Happened In The Bachelor Season 27 Finale?
If you wanted the women to bash Zach and the Women Tell All episode, Ariel is here to let Zach know how she really feels, as she informs him that he took away her agency to make informed decisions as she thought that the guidelines he imposed on her were actually disrespectful because he didn’t communicate openly when they were broken.
But in the end, with these two, Zach says he does respect and cherish what he had with Ariel, and despite what happened during Fantasy Suite week, they do wish each other the best.
Gabi Meets Zack’s Family
Back in Thailand, the next step for the final two is for Katie and Gabi. Both are going to meet Zach’s family and the first to meet them is Gabi, who was feeling unsure about her relationship with Zach after the fantasy suite situation last week. Gabi feels like she lost some trust as she’s hoping to clear up a few things, otherwise, she isn’t going to meet Zach’s family.
Gabi asked to talk to Zach and she told them that she feels blindsided about what happened as he told Katie about their intimacy. As she confronts him about whether or not he regrets what happened between them, Zach says he doesn’t regret what happened between them, but says he shouldn’t have put the restrictions on the week in the first place, so he wouldn’t have felt guilty about going against his own word.
Zach and Gabi eventually come to an understanding of their relationship. And they kiss and soon head in to meet Zach’s family. Gabi meets Zach’s family and ends up having a deep conversation with Zach’s father about how Zach was a sick baby and almost didn’t survive his early years. And this shocks Gabi as she really had no idea. And really, this meeting with Gabi and Zach’s family goes really well, as Gabi’s feelings for Zach are confirmed and she tells Zach that she is in love with him and she is ready for a long-term relationship with Zach.
Gabi’s Last Date
Next is Gabi’s last date as she greets Zach where they kiss and end up riding horses to the beach. Then they settle down and have a conversation about meeting Zach’s family and Gabi can totally see herself with Zach and being part of his family. But she is fearful that she won’t be picked in the end, and when she asked him how he is handling the situation, Zach says that he is torn still.
This makes Gabi start to doubt herself and the entire relationship, as she feels like Zach should know who he ultimately loves at this point and even says in her confessional that she doesn’t feel like Zach is going to choose her. But despite feeling severely unsure about Zach’s final decision, Gabi still has a glimmer of hope as eventually, they say goodbye to each other Zach says that he is withholding the love word for the final woman as proposal Day is right around the corner.
Sean Lowe Reflects On His Time On The Bachelor
Before Proposal Day is aired, former bachelor Sean Lowe and his final pick, Catherine take the hot seat and reflect on their time on the show 10 years ago. They both share their take as Sean Lowe has been a mentor to Zach’s time as the Bachelor.
Sean, despite saying that Zach could have handled fantasy Suites Week better, praises Zach’s honesty, and really Bachelor Nation praises Sean Lowe’s season because, well, he is a rare case of longevity in this franchise as both Sean and Catherine have three children together and are still doing well since their finale aired back in 2013.
Zach Rejects Gabi
Well, with Sean Lowe’s input said, it’s time for proposal day and Zach’s final decision. If you’ve been watching this franchise for a while, you know that the first contestant who steps out of the car is going to be sadly sent home. And on this season, Gabi arrives first and even says that she knows what’s about to happen. As she has a gut feeling that Zach isn’t going to pick her.
Gabi walks to the podium where Zach is waiting for her, and well, Zach reflects on their time together. But Gabi knows what’s about to happen, and she says don’t say it and says she knew this was coming and wishes him luck and then says goodbye.
But Zach tries to apologize. But she doesn’t want an apology and says she will find love someday. And as Gabi is sent home, she admits in her confessional that she felt frustrated and felt humiliated as she says that Zach had essentially strung her along. She also cites her intuition as knowing that she wasn’t Zach’s final pick and she feels like she is unlovable.
Then we are back in the studio where Gabi is in the hot seat wearing black and says through emotions that it was very difficult to watch all of that back. And Gabi reflects on her time on the show, as she felt even worse after watching the footage back and she admits that she is still hurt about what happened. And she knew that when Zach said goodbye that was a final goodbye as he wasn’t going to change his mind and contact her in a few weeks and said that she had chosen Zach, but in the end, he didn’t choose her back.
Gabi says that the entire season she felt supported by Zach. But when fantasy suites happen, Zach breaks her trust when he tells the entire audience about their intimacy, and she said she feels violated by this broken trust.
Then Zach comes out to talk to Gabi, and Gabi says she is sad and hurting still after what happened. She admits that during Fantasy suites they made a consensual decision to be intimate, but she was shocked to learn that their trusting moment was soon exposed, and she felt blindsided by Zach’s decision to inform Katie and the audience about what happened between them.
Zach tries to remedy the situation and apologizes. And even admits that he handled the ending of his season wrong and knows he’s severely hurt, Gabi. Zach then says from the bottom of his heart that he is sorry for what happened, but despite everything said, there are some major uneasy feelings between these two still lingering.
Zach Proposes Katie
Switching back to Thailand. Katie arrives to meet with Zach at the final rose podium and they exchanged charming compliments about growing together as a couple, and Zach tells Katie that he is so in love with her and he wants to spend the rest of his life with her and calls her his best friend. And soon Zach proposes to Katie and she says yes, and they are soon engaged. Despite the hiccups of Zach’s season, he and Katie got engaged and are very in love with each other.
We then switch back to the studio where Katie comes out and kisses Zach as this is their first time in public together. They admit they are so happy to be able to talk about their relationship. And Jesse Palmer asked them what is next for them and Zach says that they are planning to move in together during the summer months and then they are thinking of having a wedding and about two years or so.
So congratulations to Zach and his final pick Katie as Bachelor Nation wishes them the best and hopes they can endure their engagement and have a long-lasting and wonderful life together. And that’s it for The Bachelor Season 27 Finale.
