HMLYCP, also known as HyeMinLeeYeChaePa, is a Korean Variety show produced by ENA. Premiering its first episode last Sunday on 12th March 2023, HMLYCP Episode 2 is set to release this weekend itself! This highly anticipated Variety Show is titled after the first letter of the cast’s name, who will be entertaining us in HMLYCP – Hyeri, Miyeon, Leejung, Yena, Chaewon, and Patricia.
Although there are many Variety Shows similar to HMLYCP, what sets this show apart is the chemistry between the cast members and the loving bold they share together. Being famous personas online, the show brings out a different side of the HMLYCP cast members, which intrigues the fans all the more!
HMLYCP revolves around the six cast members who will be living together in a remote countryside in the mountains. The show makes the girls follow the “o-do-i-chon” lifestyle, meaning they’re allowed to spend five days in their normal urban city lifestyle, while the other two will be for peace and solace they will find in the countryside, away from the bustling city.
On the show, though living in the mountains, Hyeri, Miyeon, Leejung, Yena, Chaewon, and Patricia are expected to compete in certain games and activities to receive the necessities they require in their home. As they take on these challenges to survive in this remote village, the members strengthen their bond together and find a way to make themselves comfortable despite their location being chilly and secluded from the rest of the world.
Cast
HMLYCP boasts of a great cast, which has contributed hugely to the show’s success. As the members themselves have admitted, all six of them are E’s (extroverts), making it easier for them to mingle without exhausting the other with their energy.
Hye ri, the oldest of them all, had also mentioned to the Producer of the show Lee Tae Kyung, on how she wanted to work with people younger than her. She stated that she had always been the younger one in public settings. However, at home, she was the oldest sibling and felt more comfortable in that role. Hence, the cast formed is all younger than Hye ri.
Lee Hyeri
Debuting as a singer in the K-pop girl group ‘Girls Day’ in 2010, Lee Hyeri is a South Korean singer-turned actress, who’s starred in many popular korean dramas, including Reply 1988 (2015) and Hyde, Jekyll and Me (2015).
Cho Miyeon
A member and lead singer of the infamous K-pop girl group (G)- IDLE, Cho Miyeon made her solo debut on 27th April 2022 with her album ‘MY”, Apart from her singing career, Miyeon debuted in the acting industry through Replay (2021) and has since acted in a few K-dramas.
Leejung Lee
Leejung Lee, the leader of dance crew YGX, is the dancing instructor for Somi, Rosé from BLACKPINK, and Nayeon and Momofrom TWICE. She also created the choreographies for TWICE’s “Break Through,” “Feel Special”, “Fancy,” and ITZY’s “Wannabe” and “ICY,” and
Choi Yena
Choi Yena was a former member of the Kpop group IZ*ONE, which disbanded on 29th April 2021. Since then, Yena has made her debut in television in 2019 through a show named Prison Life Fools. Since then, she has starred regularly in Girls Highschool Mystery Class 2 (2021) and King of Sleeping Man (2021).
Kim Chaewon
Also a former member of IZ*ONE, Kim Chaewon is now a part of another Kpop group LE SSERAFIM under HYBE Entertainment. Having graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School, Chaewon entered the K-pop industry after joining the survival show Produce 48.
Patricia
Patricia, a well-known Youtuber and also a broadcaster residing in Korea with her brother Jonathan is the last member of HMLYCP. She charmed the Korean entertainment industry with their skills in acting and speaking as a Congolese woman.
