A rare One Piece Card Game card valued at approximately $8,000 has reportedly been stolen from a trading card store in Pennsylvania. Police are searching for two suspects following the August 28 theft at Key Items Collectibles on State Hill Road in Wyomissing, Berks County.
According to CBS Philadelphia, images shared by the store show one individual reaching behind a glass display case and taking the valuable card. The missing collectible is identified as the Sabo Red Manga Alternate Art card from the One Piece Card Game.
Police Seek Information on Stolen One Piece Card
The stolen Sabo card had received a PSA 10 Gem Mint grade from Professional Sports Authenticator, a grading designation that can significantly increase the value of rare trading cards. The One Piece TCG is based on Eiichiro Oda’s hugely popular One Piece manga and anime franchise.
Authorities released descriptions of the two individuals captured in the store’s photographs. One suspect was reportedly wearing a light-colored Corona T-shirt and a red baseball cap featuring a “100” emoji, while the second was wearing a black Nike shirt, black baseball cap and floral shorts.
Wyomissing police are asking anyone with information about the theft to come forward. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Alert Berks at 877-373-9913.
Key Items Collectibles has additionally asked members of the One Piece TCG community to watch online marketplaces and trading circles for the missing card. The incident follows other expensive trading card thefts reported in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, highlighting the growing value attached to rare collectibles.
