The TLC series “7 Little Johnstons” made its debut in 2015, and since then, fans have grown to feel as though they know the family personally. The popular reality series follows the Georgia-based Johnston family, which is headed by Trent and Amber with pride. Their adorable family, which consists of Elizabeth and Jonah, who are biological children, and Anna, Alex, and Emma, who are adopted children, initially gained national attention when they referred to themselves as “the real-life seven dwarfs”.
The Johnston family, who are all affected by achondroplasia, the most prominent form of dwarfism in the world, have won over millions of fans worldwide by refusing to adopt a “woe-is-me attitude,” as Amber explained in an interview. The Johnstons wanted to highlight that they face the same problems as everyone else, even if they are the largest family of their kind to date, and that’s one of the reasons they decided to put their family on television.
Fans have watched the kids grow as they deal with romance, typical teenage issues, balancing homework and extracurricular activities, and, of course, arguing with their siblings and parents. Even though “7 Little Johnstons” Season 11 just ended in May 2022, fans already want more of their beloved family. Here is everything we currently know about Season 12.

Is 7 Little Johnstons Season 12 Canceled?
Emma Johnston caused serious controversy when she appeared to hint that “7 Little Johnstons” was to come to an end. During an Insta Q&A discussion in April 2022, a fan asked how many more seasons the family was planning on doing. Emma stated that they were shooting 20 more episodes before declaring “that was it.” We can conclude that there are still two seasons left before the family might say farewell, given that “7 Little Johnstons” seasons normally consist of eight to ten episodes.
Since the show had not been renewed at the time, viewers were understandably worried about its future. None of the other Johnstons made any comments. Thankfully, a press announcement from TLC revealed that “7 Little Johnstons” would indeed return for Season 12. Additionally, they hinted that “big life changes for all of the children and one Johnston is living in with a partner” would occur in the upcoming season.
7 Little Johnstons Season 12 Release Date
Well, the fan very much always thinks of the Johnstons. This makes any information about them important. TLC has revealed the release date, so let’s get back to the basics. 7 Little Johnstons Season 12 will be released on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at 9 pm ET/PT. On March 7, Emma and her sister Anna Johnston uploaded a mirror photo with the words “Back to work” and clapper board emoji underneath their “Seven J’s” highlight video.
Amber, Trent, Jonah, Anna, Elizabeth, Alex, and Emma will all return for 7 Little Johnstons Season 12. This time, fans may expect a significant change thanks to the addition of an eighth family member! Joose, a 17-year-old Finnish exchange student who is also little, moves into the reality TV family to embrace American culture, learn English and share his Finnish heritage with the Johnstons.
Will 7 Little Johnstons Season 12 Be The Last Season?
After Emma Johnston made a passing suggestion that the show might be wrapping up soon, viewers began to wonder if Season 12—or the season after—would be the last. Amber Johnston stated in an exclusive interview that shooting “7 Little Johnstons” during the COVID-19 epidemic was challenging, particularly because they had to maintain their distance from the crew, with whom the Johnstons had become immensely close over the years. She said, “We have to think things out a lot more and plan a lot more than we are used to. However, we are still making progress, so perhaps things will improve”.
The Johnstons want to show that everything is possible and encourage others watching at home to pursue their ambitions. Amber stated that they have “no regrets” regarding anything they have shared publicly thus far. There won’t be any looking back and saying, “Oh, I wish I hadn’t done that,” she predicted when the time does come that our show’s route is coming to an end.
The proud grandmother, in an interview, said what she enjoyed most about filming the show “We offer the footage as a family. To create our story to tell to viewers, our crew does such an amazing job of putting the puzzle pieces together.” Ultimately, we’ll have to see how long “7 Little Johnstons” goes on, but for now, we can at least await Season 12.
7 Little Johnstons Season 12 Plot
In the upcoming season of “7 Little Johnstons,” TLC teased that our favorite family would undergo dramatic changes. First of all, Jonah Johnston has left the family home, but after finding it difficult to manage on his own, parents, Trent & Amber Johnston, begin to consider whether he should temporarily return.
Along with her partner Brice, Elizabeth Johnston also hopes to gain some independence, but her parents are naturally worried that it might be too soon for her as well. Elizabeth presently lives alone and supports herself, but the happy couple has been talking about moving in with each other since September 2021 and has been in a relationship at least since 2019. However, her parents are not convinced.
Other Johnstons include teens Alex and Emma, who are getting ready to turn 17 and prepare for adulthood, and Anna, who is looking for love after her previous romance ended before it ever got started. There are rumors that Trent’s new career as a car salesperson, which resulted from the epidemic, will be the focus of the upcoming season.
