Longtime Conservative Seattle radio host Dory Monson has died. Cairo News Radio announced that Monson died at a Seattle Hospital on Saturday. In 2011, King 5 interviewed Monson discussing his broadcasting/radio career.
‘It’s fun, I mean, it’s a real challenge every single day, but I can’t imagine a more enjoyable way, a rewarding way to make a living news’ -stated Monson. Monson was the Midday host on Cairo FM. Seattle, born and raised, also coached basketball at Shorecrest High School.
In 2016, Monson guided Shorecrest to the school’s lone girls’ basketball state championship. He was the top-rated host for Cairo News Radio, where he worked since the early 90s, and also worked for King TV.
Several other people shared their condolences on Twitter, including Terry Holloman, who writes, ‘Dori gave us our very first opportunity to be on the radio. He was my friend, and I’m forever grateful for him. King County Council member ‘Reagan Dunn’ wrote ‘He will be truly missed.’

Who Is Dori Monson?
Dori Monson is an American Radio host and personality who presented the ‘Dori Monson Show’ on KIRO-FM from Seattle, Washington, mostly in the afternoons. Monson, a person of Icelandic descent, grew up in Ballard, which is a Scandinavian cultural neighborhood in Seattle.
He did his high school studies at Ballard High School. He worked as a physical game commentator for the Husky football on-campus transmitter ‘KCMU’ when he was an undergraduate student at the University of Washington.

Monson started his professional free-to-air career in the role of sports producer at KING-TV and even as sporting events journalist and presenter at KING Am. All of this happened when the longstanding Seattle broadcaster Bill O’Mara took him to King Broadcasting founder Dorothy Bullitt.
After that, he then went to KIRO-FM 100.7 during the ‘Pat Cashman Show’ and decided to shift stations in 1994. Monson resided in Lake Forest Park, Washington, alongside his soulmate and three girls. He described or identified himself as “straight,” “center-right,” and “free” at varying moments. In the 2008 election for president, Monson revealed that he stood for Bob Barr.
How Did Dori Monson Die?
Monson passed away on December 31, 2022, just at number 61, in a Seattle hospital, Washington, after enduring a cardiovascular episode 2 days earlier. A long time back, in 2011, in an interview with KING, he stated – ‘About 20 years ago, there were three things that I wanted to be a husband and father.

He later contacted me to congratulate me on becoming a parent and then rang once more when my baby sister vanished as well as when we had asked to depart the radio network.’
