Dimensional Descent is a fantasy light novel series written by a Canadian talent, Awespec. The author had a unique take on the Dungeon/System genre in mind while making Dimensional Descent. The idea of transitioning from a Sci-Fi world to a fantasy one in no less than five chapters is not something you see in every source material.

Dimensional Descent takes place in a futuristic Sci-fi world, with quite the reverse ideology in practice, where the Upper-class people live on the surface of the world while the lower-class people live on the floating islands in the sky. And one’s class is defined by fate right from birth!

Previously On Dimensional Descent

In chapter 1793 (Defensive Path), we witness a well-detailed fight between Leonel and Harmony. Though Harmony made a valiant effort in tanking Leonel’s attacks, Leonel was just a stronger fighter at the end of the day. But not for long!

Shortly after, Leonel thought victory was at hand. But, Leonel was mistaken to underestimate Harmony, and he realized that when she quickly turned the tides of the fight. With Harmony soaring in the sky looking down on him, Leonel felt his Force being stripped away into nothingness. After trying to retaliate, Leonel realized that Harmony might have no weaknesses.

The Chapter ends on a cliffhanger when Leonel tries his best to counter her attack with his spear construct, only to have it snapped in two in an instant with the Scythe now heading for his vital parts.

Chapter 1794 (Radiance) Leonel’s heart skipped a beat, and he was shot backward with the impact force of the attack. Harmony was then gazing malevolently at Leonel’s condition. Leonel was stabbed in the chest with the Scythe slicing through half of his head. Leonel states it would be curtains for any other enemy. Funnily enough, Leonel punched to the ground right after he finished the last sentence.

However, Leonel’s ace up his sleeve undid everything, using [Instant Recovery]. Additionally, he had an awakening with a Halo appearing above his head that traveled toward his feet as an imaginary armor started to manifest around him, leaving the air around him to quake and tremble, signifying the impact of the power-up sequence.

This transformation left Harmony wide-eyed and shocked! Soon after his awakening, Leonel spread his arm and sucked in all the Force energy surrounding him to lift him in the air, in a hint of mockery towards the Deity that was already up in the air. The obvious difference in strength could not be argued after what Leonel did next.

Leonel stepped forward, then disappeared, only to reappear to attack Harmony, a fierce attack that sliced space itself. Even so, Harmony tried to counter Leonel’s strike with her Scythe, but the difference in power was quickly realized when Leonel sent her body flying with a single hit.

Harmony now pummeled to the ground. She felt her ribs shatter, piercing her internal organs. But Harmony did not lose her will to fight. Even so, every encounter she had with Leonel from here on ended up in Leonel’s favor.

After one final strike from Leonel, she was trying to comprehend what happened. The pain she was dealt was clouding her thoughts. But once she gathered her bearings, she shrieked! “Leave me alone!” Finally, giving in and losing her will to even attempt to participate in this losing battle.

The Chapter then finally ends with an interesting plot development. Harmony had a change in appearance which could potentially lead to a Power-up. But only time shall tell what’s to come.

The battle between Harmony and Leonel could be far from over. By the end of Chapter 1795, it was made clear that Harmony had no will to fight, leading us to believe the transformation she’s going through is happening against her will. Could this be the involvement of the three fingers? Or a special case that we aren’t aware of?
