Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon fans will have to wait a little bit longer for the next episode as there is a slight delay. Ani-One, the youtube channel responsible for the weekly simulcast of the show, announced this news recently. The company reported that they were facing some technical issues, and because of this, the weekly simulcast will be postponed.

For people who don’t know Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon, it’s a spin-off of the widely popular Inuyasha and acts as a sequel to it. The story takes place many years after the events that have unfolded in Inuyasha.

Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon

Sesshomaru and Rin have a daughter named Towa, who is 4 years old. Towa gets separated from her younger twin sister and then somehow gets lost in the modern era. Luckily there she is looked after by Kagome Higurashi’s family. Higurashi’s younger brother Sota and his wife Moe, are the ones who mainly look after her.

Almost 10 years later, by using the power of the Sacred Tree Of Ages, Setsuna, Towa’s sister, is able to make her way into the modern world and be reunited with her sister. But everything isn’t the way it used to be, a lot has gone down in those 10 years.

Setsuna, during the decade, went on to work under Kohaku and becomes a very hard-hearted demon. But the unfortunate incident is when her dreams and memories of her past are taken away by the Dream Butterfly. They are also given company from a quarter demon bounty hunter who goes by the name Moroha.

Moroha is the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome Higurashi, who, like them, have also lost her memories completely. So the three of them set out on an epic adventure to retrieve what they have lost.

Let’s also take a quick look at Inuyasha, the prequel to this anime. Our recommendation would be too without a doubt, watch Inuyasha before you venture into the world of Yashahime.

Inuyasha

We follow the life of Kagome Higurashi, your average fifteen-year-old school-going teenager. She lives in a Japanese shrine that used to be in her family for years. Later on, we find out that she is the reincarnation of Kikyo.

Kikyo was an ancient priestess who guarded the shrine, which housed a very important jewel. Inuyasha, a half-demon dog, was on the hunt for this jewel that will give him the power to become a complete demon. Poor Kagome is somehow sucked into a lot of history as she is taken back in time to an ancient world, a world where 50 years have passed since Kikyo died.

There she makes friends with Kaede, who is Kikyo’s sister. Kaede realizes that Kagome is the reincarnation of Kikyo. During a battle that ensues, they find out that the said sacred jewel is stored inside Kagome’s body. Some events unfold, and Inuyasha is freed.

He tries to go after Kagome to get the jewel, but Kaede intercepts and solves the situation. Not with some magic, Kagome has control over Inuyasha, but she accidentally breaks the jewel. Now the pieces are everywhere, and the duo has to find it quick before it falls into the wrong hands.
