Japanese action-adventure game series The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom debuted in 1986. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, one of the series’ many video games, was released this year, and admirers are happy to have played it. Both it and the video game graphics are incredibly wonderful.
You are tasked with completing a side mission that asks you to explore several deep-seated abandoned mines rather late in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The subsequent two attempts are slightly less simple, despite the video game generously throwing you into the initial mine with ease. Let us look at where to find the abandoned Lanaryu Mine in Tears of the Kingdom in TOTK.
How to Get to Abandoned Lanayru Mine?
When playing Tears of the Kingdom for the very first time, discovering the long-abandoned Lanayru Mine site can be challenging. You must travel to this location in the Depths specifically to battle with Master Kohga.
The boss you’ve previously encountered appears to be the one who got away; however, he will ultimately be defeated in this battle. To do that, though, you would need to get to the mine where Master Kohga is by way of the Depths.

Getting to the Lanayru Mine
A lot of players experience problems locating the right path regardless of the quest sign. If you are one of those, then fear not! We’ve got you!
Unlocking Uinoj Lightroom
So, first, you will have to unlock the Uinoj Lightroot. How do you do that? Well, start with unlocking Uinoj Lightroot. To do so, you will need to go to the Southern side. But where in the South? Make your way to the Akkala Plains Chasm. Keep moving south from the plains, and you should find the Uinoj Lightroot. For reference, these are the coordinates of Uinoj Lightroot: 2918, 0499, -0796.
The Lanayru Mine
Once you have figured out a way to unlock the Uinoj, well, you need not exactly FIGURE OUT cause y’all. We just helped you! You’re welcome. SO! Moving on! Turn northeast. This is the direction we are going to proceed in. You will spot a workshop. Turn left when you reach the workshop.
Do you see a Statue? Go towards it. Now, do you see a cave? Go towards and in. Just keep walking. Just keep walking. Stop! Do you see ANOTHER statue? Run towards it, go! And voila! Our beloved Lanayru Mine is waiting right there for you.
You must prevent treading on Gloom and other monsters that you encounter while traveling. Additionally, make sure you have sufficient Brightbloom seeds with you, or you risk becoming stranded in the Dark.
Defeating Master Kohga
Can we just say Master Kohga is HANDSOME? But that’s for some other day! Be cautious, as Master Kohga will be loitering close to the Lanaryu Mine. Not only him, but two combatants from the Yiga Clan will also be guarding him. The two phases of this monster confrontation will entail Master Kohga getting powerful.
When dealing with the bow-armed men in the first phase, continue with caution because they may unleash powerful assaults. There are boats on the wharf close to Lanayru Mines.
Utilize these boats to quickly approach Master Kohga. As soon as Master Kohga’s hp reaches half, hop on the boat, dodge any arrows, and then jump to attack. Easy.
He is going to safeguard himself in the subsequent phase with a covered shield. He will also hurl massive stones at you, which you can deflect or even return back by using the Recall ability.
Throughout this stage, Master Kohga will periodically let go of his shield while flinging a heavy stone toward Link while carrying a stone over his head.
Continue to move rapidly, make good use of Recall, and attack your opponents whenever you get an opportunity to. You may deal with the Yiga tribe members by adopting this strategy, escape Master Kohga’s rock blows, and prevail in the battle.
For some ease, here’s a list of Master Kohga’s strengths and weaknesses:
Strengths:
- Fast boat
- Yiga clan guards
- Agile
- Safety shield in the second phase
- Throw obstacles
Weaknesses:
- Guards were eliminated by a single strike
- Cooldown phases (perfect attack window)
- Low defense
- Projectiles redirected using Recall
