Are you guys excited about the release of Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 219? We got a great chapter this week, even if we didn’t get to see what was expected in the last chapter, I am actually more glad that it turned out this specific way because everything about the wheel, the Ten Shadow Technique, Sukuna, and Yorozu, is all very fun and interesting to discuss.
Before revealing the release date, spoilers, and reading guide of the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 219, let us take a look at what actually happened in the previous chapter 218.
The chapter opens up with a small cal back to Yorozu in the Hein Era, and we see what her actual appearance looks like, which doesn’t look so much different compared to Tsumiki. I mean, obviously, it is not supposed to look exactly different since the face of the reincarnate kind of morphs with the face of the vessel.
We see that Yorozu was distressed since her Construction Technique wasn’t suitable for conserving and using Curse Energy efficiently, it is not like Yorozu has a low Curse Energy output in general, but it is that her curse technique causes a lot of curse energy; so if she were to create a tank, for example, would probably consume so much Cursed Energy therefore not having enough Curse Enrrgy to create other things.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 218 Recap
This is bad because if Yorozu’s first lethal creation couldn’t finish the job on her opponent, then her second creation wouldn’t be as lethal, and that is likely, not ideal, as it was stated that because of the technique’s energy consumption has put Yorozu in more than a couple different predicaments.

This was until she basically got inspired by the efficiency of a variety of different bugs, which may sound kind of random and weird considering it is the Hein Era. There are not many other things to be inspired by, especially in this specific context.
Well, what is exhibited high jumping power speed even lifts objects that are several times heavier than itself, so yeah, that is where the inspiration comes from, as her ultimate form is just a mix of bugs that possesses that special quality.
In addition to that, it was also stated that Yorozu had defeated a squad that worked under the Fujiwara Clan, which is not the same but similar to the squad, Uro used to lead back in the Hein Era.

For further context, the Fujiwara Clan was historically known as one of the most powerful and influential clans during the Hein Era in Japan, and they had different squads to perform specific duties, as Uro was the captain of one of them called the “Sun, Moon, and Stars Squad,” which is a name that acts more of an idiom.
We later learn that the Sendai Colony, a member of the Fujiwara Clan, killed a member of their own and has used Uro as the scapegoat, falsely assuming her and making a sentence for her execution. This explains Uro’s hatred for the Fujiwara Clan.
Another interesting fact about them is that they had a hand in “Sugiwara no Michizane’s Death,” probably butchered that who’s the far descendants of Gojo and Yuta and were considered a big shot in the Jujutsu Kaisen World.
The reason why I am bringing this up is that when Uta and Uro fought each other, Uro was constantly calling Yuta a “Fujiwara,” which confused readers since he started to be a Michizane by Gojo, but I believe that it was fixed in a volume extra or somewhere that Uro just has a tendency to call guys that annoy her as a Fujiwara, which really shows how big and deep that would it is to her.
We come back to the present time, as Yorozu lands a few hits on Sukuna and sends him crashing toward the Stadium’s hallway; from these action sequences, it looks like Yorozu’s bug form is insanely fast. Considering the big size, I was not expecting her to sort of surprise attack the King of the Curses with her speed.
Here goes a lot to the earlier mention of bugs having a special quality. I mean, obviously, Sukuna is not hundred percent here, but these are still huge feats from Yorzu, nonetheless, and as expected, I mean knowing that she is from the Hein Era, a time when Sorcerers and Jujutsu were at their peak, it is not surprising that she can do this much against King of the Curses at 15 fingers.
Mahoraga’s wheel also seems to be attached to Sukuna, and we will discuss more of that later, but Yorozu continues to squabble over Sukuna for not using his Shrine Cuse Technique. Now she is referring to dismantle and cleave here since she says, “Cut me, Slice me, and Rip me!” which also means that she doesn’t really know the true extent of Sukuna’s Curse Technique because we know that it is not just slicing and slashing as Jogo learned.
I didn’t actually know this until recently, but two times, yeah, not once but twice, have we seen Sukuna mysteriously say “Open,” and it’s granted him the fire ability. I think with the general concept of opening something, there has to be some metaphysical place where he is obviously opening this ability from, unless it is just fire, but at the same time, it is a bit odd. Why would fire be the one and only special ability that needs to be opened?
I know people will say that Sukuna’s power embodies a kitchen, and he is like a chef. Yeah, that does fit the theme of cutting, slashing, and eating humans, but if that is the case, shouldn’t fire be along with his main abilities to cleave and dismantle? Why does the fire have to be specifically opened every time?
Yorozu tries to trap Sukuna using her liquid metal, though he counters it by summoning a new Shikigami called “Tranquil Deer” if you read the Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 218 spoilers, this part got further clarified as the deer’s ability is Reverse Cursed Technique, there for the positive neutralize and erased the cursed/negative energy that was flowing through the liquid metal attack.
I guess from the way the leaks were worded, I initially thought that the deer had the Reverse Curse Technique and another separate ability that erases the Curse technique, like Angle, but now we know that that is not the case.
I also like how Sukuna touches his deer in order to heal his wounds, and it makes me wonder if Sukuna could have just erased the technique himself since he has Reversed Curse Technique, or maybe he had to summon Shikigaki because its entire big body is coated with Reverse Curse Technique.
Sukuna then summons another Shikigami called “Piercing Bull,” And it damages Yorozu, eventually leading them back outside the Stadium. We later learn that this bull can only move in a straight line, but the exchange is for power, dramatically increasing the further it charges.
