Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 4 saw the event continue from the previous episode and Snake, the leader of the guests at the Ketil farm makes an entrance and the retainers are scared of him. Upon seeing that Fox has caused injuries to Thorfinn he punches and demands and an explanation. After hearing what was going on, Snake says that they are never bullying Thorfinn or any of the slaves again.
But Snake is curious about how Throfinn is ready to give up his life and approaches with his own knife. The aura that Snake has reminds Thorfinn of Askeladd and just as the former takes out his knife, Thorfinn kicks and is ready to fight surprised to see that his body moved on his own. Snake leaves saying to live Thorfinn wants to live to which the latter thinks “Live and do what?”
Einar is curious after watching Thorfinn acting like that and when they are in the forest cutting down the trees, the former asks Thorfinn if he has even been to war and killed people. Thorfinn tells Einar that he was a warrior and he has killed many people and he is no different from the people who came to his village and killed his mother and sister. Thorfins asks Einar if he hates him now that he knows he was a warrior.
While sleeping, Einar has constantly remembered the incidents of his village, and the thought that Thorfinn was a warrior is still bugging him and making him angry to the point he wants to choke Thorfinn to death. At one point, we even see Einar go up to Thorfinn while he sleeping and hold his neck by his hands.
However, Einar does not choke him and sees that Thorfinn is having nightmares where he is crying and screaming. Einar helps Thorfinn wake up from the nightmare and Thorfinn thanks him for waking up and apologizes for screaming all night long.
