Even though the film stars Angelina Jolie, it failed to make an impression on the viewers as it had a box office collection of $16.9 M with an initial investment of $40 M. Directed by Stephen Herek, the film did miserably at the box office and left the viewers in the turmoil of what exactly happened in the film.
Several viewers felt the movie was a waste of one’s time and not worth their money. Viewers stated the only thing worth watching in the film was Angelina Jolie playing the role of Lanie. The film highlights the superficial thinking of individuals as oftentimes, and people will pretend to be someone they are not.

Veena Sood plays the role of a Doctor, and Jesse James plays the role of Tommy in the lead cast. Life Or Something Like That focuses on Laine, a feature reporter living a superficial life in Seattle with her celebrity boyfriend, whose life comes unraveling when a homeless man predicts her death to occur in a week.
The homeless man warns Laine about her living a vain life, and she begins to re-evaluate her life decisions after other predictions of the same man become true.

Life Or Something Like It Premise
The film begins with Laine, a successful feature reporter living in Seattle. Laine works at the Seattle television station and finds out the truth behind the prophet Jack’s predictions during an interview. To do so, she asks the prophet to predict the football scores of the ongoing match.
The prophet successfully predicts the end score of the football match, and with it, he also predicts an upcoming hail and Laine’s death to occur in seven days. Laine begins to panic and meets Jack for another prophecy after the first two prophecies of his turn out to be true. This time Jack predicts the occurrence of an Earthquake in San Francisco at 9:06 A.M.
After his prediction turns out to be true, Laine becomes convinced that her death to occur in seven days. Laine fails to find comfort in her celebrity boyfriend and her family and is forced to re-evaluate her relationships and life. Laine finds comfort and support from an unlikely source after she starts to make professional blunders due to her thoughts being jumbled.
Peter begins to comfort Laine as they had casual sex once, but it later turns into archnemesis. Pater introduces her to a new approach to life to live it to the fullest and enjoy it. Peter introduces Laine to his son Tommy, and they spend the whole day together. Laine and Peter have sex the same night, and Laine follows to her dream job the next day leaving Peter behind after he refuses to come with her.
Pete has a meeting with Jack and informs him about his prediction being wrong about Laine not getting her dream job. At that moment, Jack explains to Peter that her predictions are right as Laine would die before starting her new job. Laine refuses a job offer from her dream company after realizing her life is with Pete.
Laine gets shot by a bullet after she leaves the studio and dies at the operating table, only to be revived and brought back to life. After Laine gains consciousness, the pair confess their feelings for each other. The film ends with Laine’s voiceover stating a part of her died that night at the operating table.

1. Washington
Washington is an alluring state located in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States; it was used by the production crew of Life Or Something Like It as the prime location to film the movie. The scene with Laine getting shot is filmed at this location, and the scene with Laine and Pete confessing their love is filmed at this location.
2. Vancouver
Vancouver is a majestic city in British Colombia with captivating scenic beauty used by the production crew of Life Or Something Like It as a major location to film parts of the movie. The scene with Jack predicting Laine’s future was filmed at this location.
