The excitement in the air for chapter 220 of Jujutsu Kaisen has been phenomenal. The manga released in 2018 has quickly become a fan favorite of readers. With chapter 219 receiving a great amount of positivity, the curiosity of the audience to learn more about Sukuna, Yorozu, the Harvest Ritual, and the Ten Wheel Shadow Technique has been felt within the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom and community.
Let us quickly look at the previous chapters and their important details before we drop the release dates for the next chapter, chapter 220 of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Chapter 219 of Jujutsu Kaisen deals with the harvest festival and the duel between Sukuna and Yorozu. Set in the Hein Era, Yorozu does not look very different in appearance from Tsumiki, Fushiguro Megumi’s sister. They look similar because Tsumiki was the incarnated host of Yorozu and was chosen by Kenjaku to be a part of the Culling Game. The Culling Game is something that can only be stopped if the concerned players are all wiped out, or they refuse to participate in the Game.
The chapter also shows a quick battle between Sukuna and Yorozu and Megumi waking up after killing his sister, Tsumiki. Yorozu, an aged cursed spirit, is no match for the King of Curses and even though she dominates Sukuna, he remains unscathed in their fierce encounters.
Yorozu’s personality seems to be an area of discussion and deliberation. While some readers absolutely love her and her design, some find her to be annoying. She has an insanely ambitious wish to marry Sukuna, and her single-mindedness and determination really shines, even in the newest chapter, where she wants Sukuna’s solitude only for herself. Sukuna remains annoyed at her attempts which really bring an atmosphere of comedic relief to the grim and serious plot.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 219: Recap
Chapter 219 of Jujutsu Kaisen is named as ‘Bath: Part 4’ . The manga is set in the Hein era where the Harvest Ritual is about to begin. The people question why they had to pray to Sukuna to obtain a bountiful harvest because he is the King of Curses. However, they cannot forget that Sukuna was the one who sliced and destroyed the elite Fujiwara clan Subjugation Units into pieces.
The Fujiwara clan, for context, is the most influential clan in the Hein era. Their greatest feature was that they had different units of operations to perform different specific tasks. To avoid any sort of distress or disaster, people cannot defy Sukuna because they have to create a peaceful and amicable relationship with him and harbor no malicious intent.
The scene shifts to Yorozu, a thousand-year-old cursed spirit who is lying in her room, naked. A servant enters, bows, and keeps saying “Yorozu Sama”, to which Yorozu tells them to quit their barking. The servant proceeds to tell her that the Harvest Festival has begun and that she should wear some clothes.
They clearly do not mind if she wears informal clothes but she should at least wear something and not roam around the place, unclad. The servant also fears that if Yorozu does not wear clothes, the servant would be disciplined by the palace ladies again. Yorozu is interested in going to the festival because she wants to have the famous Karakudamono, a Hein-era special pastry that is kept in Hein era banquets and is also used as shrine offerings.
She rushes outside wearing nothing but a robe while the servant tries to convince her that it is not that kind of a ritual where she can have food that is offered to the shrine. But knowing Yorozu and her barbaric personality, she does not pay heed to the servant’s words and proceeds to go to the festival while wearing a robe. However, while walking, Yorozu becomes alarmed. In front of her, on an elevated platform, surrounded by officials in Sukuna.
She does not understand what on earth they are doing and immediately rushes toward Sukuna and embraces him. She tells him that everything will be alright because he is not alone now that Yorozu is there. She hears a crackling noise which alerts her, and she backs off. She is told by the attendant next to Sukuna to back off.
Yorozu then smirks and says that from that day onwards, she would be by Sukuna’s side and she would be the one to ease the lonely heart of his. However, the panel shows her chest and upper abdominal area being sliced, and she falls down on the pebbled ground. Even while injured, all she could think of was Sukuna’s solitude, and she wanted all of that to herself and no one else. The one who would kill Sukuna is going to be her.
Yorozu proceeds to create a perfect sphere which moves toward Sukuna. A perfect sphere is said to be impossible to be created. Owing to its infinitely small point of contact, it generates an infinite pressure along its surface. It is something impossible to grasp and Yorozu waits eagerly to see Sukuna’s response and how he handles it. She then proceeds to use her Domain expansion, Three Layers of Affliction but is surprised to see Sukuna not expanding his domain.
It is impossible to grasp a perfect sphere. In her domain, that perfect sphere is guaranteed to hit Sukuna, which would ultimately result in him vanishing. So then, why does Sukuna not expand his domain to stop her perfect sphere? As the situation reaches a climax, Sukuna with the wheel attached to him, summons the Eight Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga, the most powerful shikigami that no one in the Zenin family has been able to subject.
Mahoraga destroyed Yorozu’s perfect sphere, which Yorozu witnesses with unbelievably. Sukuna tells the pesky little Yorozu (because that’s how he sees her) that techniques like hers which are infused with poor cursed energy effiency, tend to be a one-trick pony. When facing an adverse situation, Yorozu would always fall back on the powers, she is used to liking her Liquid Metal or her Insect Armor. Sukuna tells her with a smirk on his face that he has adapted to her powers.
Yorozu, who is now utterly defeated is gleeful to know that Sukuna knows her so well. It makes her extremely happy. The manga panel shows Sukuna’s disinterested reaction to that information. Yorozu then gives something to Sukuna and tells him to cherish it and think of it as her.
The scene then shifts to Fushiguro Megumi, who has just taken the life of his sister, Tsumiki, who was the incarnate vessel of Yorozu. His soul is seen sinking into the voided abyss, and the chapter abruptly ends at that point.
