McKenna is not only a fitness instructor at the gym but also an influencer on his social media to millions of people. Peloton is a public trade company that employs thousands of people from across the world.
He was hired by the company as the former fitness instructor in December 2021 and almost worked there for more than a year making good grounds with Peloton. The 34 years old was born in Donegal in, Ireland. He is of Irish Nationality.
After completing his education, McKenna decided to become a gym instructor. Not only was he adapted to the gym, but he also participated in many different games of football and others. He is a certified trainer and has professional certificates too.
Daniel McKenna’s Life At Peloton:
Daniel McKenna is said to be working with Peloton for more than a year. The company hired him on December 2021 due to his welcoming and hard-working nature. According to him, his hard works are the reason he is where he is today.
McKenna was paid an annual six-figure salary of $260,000 by the company for which he worked in. His days in Peloton were very good, and he worked hard and enjoyed being an instructor there. Then why did things change so drastically? Well, we could see it in the next one.
Why Was Daniel McKenna Fired From Peloton?
Daniel McKenna had been working for the company for more than a year and was the former instructor before he fell severally ill and had to undergo an unexpected surgery in the year 2021. The instructor denied taking the COVID-19 vaccine as, according to him, that could produce hindrance in his recovery and would take a longer time.
He was on leave for surgery, and soon when he had recovered and was planning to join the company, to his dismay, his contract was terminated by the company. According to Peloton’s Chief content officer, Jennifer Cotter, McKenna was told to be on “thin ice for taking disability leave.”
Well, without any prior information or notice, McKenna was terminated from the contract and fired from Peloton for privacy reasons in September 2022.
What Did McKenna Do About His Termination?
After being terminated from the company, McKenna filed a lawsuit against Peloton for almost $ 2 million. He had accused Jennifer Cotter on the grounds of breaching his contract without his knowledge and has also accused her of mocking his Irish background, which he belonged to.
He also said that Cotter had said some stereotypical things about his nationality by saying that “nobody would understand what McKenna was saying because of the way he spoke.” Cotter, on her side of the lawsuit, said that she simply meant Daniel was hard to understand, and this was the sole reason for her commenting something like this.
McKenna also said that after his surgery, all these things that were happening put him into a state of anxiety and into a state where his mental and physical health was degrading each day. He was made embarrassed by the company in front of the entire social media.
What Is The Former Instructor Up to Now?
Well after the termination of the contract and filing a lawsuit against the company, nothing much is seen from either end. It has been like a cold war which is still raging. He was fired from the company on September 12, 2022, for which he adds that he was wronged by the company.
His last social media post was seen on September 10, 2022, which was his formal last day as an instructor in Peloton. After which, nothing till today has been seen uploaded by him. On his social media, he thanks all his followers who have been supportive of him during a hard time of his termination.
He thanks his social media audience for their immense love and support towards him and looks forward to them for always being supportive. Though much is not known about the case between Daniel McKenna and Peloton, it is known that both parties had filed to dismiss the lawsuit against each other on December 5, 2022.
