Indian well-known art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai died by attempting suicide at his own studio in Mumbai. The director’s death was surrounded by many backlashes and cheating allegations. Desai criticized the financial services firm to which the art director’s company owed money.

His works were always praised by the directors, and he bagged National Award four times as an art director. Also, the product designer was a TV producer who had shows in Marathi and worked in Hindi films as well.
Nitin’s daughter Mansi Desai stated to the media, “My father(Nitin Chandrakant Desai) had no intention to cheat anyone, and he was going to make all the payments that he promised.” She further added, “Due to the pandemic, there was no work, and the studio remained closed. Due to this, he (Desai) was not to make his regular payments.”

Nitin’s daughter has revealed that Desai had borrowed a loan amount of rs.181 crores from a company, and he had already repaid the amount of 86.31 crores. As Mansi acknowledged to the media, “The loan was Rs 181 crores, and we(her father or family) already made a payment of 86.31 crores.”
Mansi further added that “The payment was made in Feb 2020. Then they(the company which lent the amount to Desai) also wanted a six-month interest which my father paid by selling his office in Powai. He had no intention to fraud anyone, and he was going to make all payments that he (Nitin Desai) had promised.
She continued, “We(Late Nitin’s family) would like to request the media to stop making defamatory statements against him and stop spreading false information. Please consult us before releasing any information.”
According to the sources, MLA Kajrat, Mahesh Baldi, the 58-years old director, took this step due to his financial crisis. According to various sources, the famous art director had got very few works compared to the previous last five years. The actor has worked on several big project projects. His previous big-budget works were ‘Panipat’ and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.’
Nitin had a career span of more than 20 years, during which he worked with many famous film directors in Bollywood. Including ‘Devdas,’ ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam,’ fame Sanjay Leela Bhansali; ‘Lagaan,’ ‘Jodha Akbar,’ fame Ashutosh Gowarikar; and worked with other top directors like Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani.
Later, in 2002 the product designer turned into a film producer with “Chandrakant Productions.” The production house released the devotional movie based on Devi Mata of Kutch, called “Desh Devi.”
Despite this, Desai also worked for the most famous TV reality show, “Bigg Boss”, which aired on Colors Channel. Overall, on August 2, Nitin Desai was found dead at his ND studio. The police had got the voice notes clips after his death. He was one of the finest aesthetic art directors and product designers in both the Hindi and Marathi Entertainment Industries.
The Raigad police are currently solving Nitin’s suicide case, where they found eleven audio clips in the video recorder, which was found in his studio. In one of those clips or voice notes, he spoke about his company could not balance the debts. It was facing a financial crisis because of the procedure adopted by the financial services firm.
