Recently, during a Republican leadership news conference, Mitch McConnell stopped in the middle of his speech. That made everyone wonder if he was feeling unwell at the time.
More precisely, he talked about the annual defense policy bill when he became silent all of a sudden. A physician escorted Mitch McConnell from the cameras and reporters. But, after some time, Mitch McConnell walked back to the press conference all by himself.
As Mitch came back, everyone asked if he was ready to do the job. In response to that, he said, “Yeah.” Even at this age, after several downfalls and injuries, Mitch McConnell appeared sharp and confident. It was reported that he “felt lightheaded and stepped away for a moment.” He didn’t share if he consulted a doctor.
As Mitch McConnell temporarily stopped his speech, he seemed like forgetting his train of thought. He started gazing around and appeared very disoriented. But, as he made his comeback after some minutes, he had a weekly meeting with Speaker Kevin McCarthy, Republican of California.
Not forget to mention Mitch McConnell suffered from hearing loss because of his early tripping accidents. But, he seems to be a fighter, being still in charge in private sessions. In other words, Mitch McConnell is very much confident and is looking forward to continuing his service.
However, this wasn’t the first time that Mitch McConnell fell. One was at the once at a Washington, D.C. airport on July 14. While another time was during a foreign trip in February. To be more exact, it was during his visit to Finland.
Back in 2019, Mitch McConnell accidentally fell at his house in Louisville, Ky. That resulted in his shoulder fracture. Again, this year, the politician fell at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Washington, D.C. The injury was pretty serious, following which he was sidelined for nearly six weeks. To be more particular about the injury, Mitch slammed his head and suffered a concussion and broken ribs, as mentioned earlier.
