He was born and brought up in Springfields, Massachusetts. Theodor finished his graduation from Dartmouth College and went for further studies at Lincon College, London. Theodor dropped out of college and returned to the United States in February 1927. He started writing and submitting his work to magazines and book publishers. Thoedor first work to be published was his cartoon in the issue of The Saturday Evening Post.
Geisel later moved to New York and started working in a magazine company Judge. He became financially stable after working in the magazine and married his wife Palmer. During World War II, Geisel started writing politically inspired cartoons which got much appreciation from the public. Some of the notable work done by Dr. Seuss includes “And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Road”, Gerald McBoing Boing, Green Eggs And Ham, and Horton Hatches An Egg.

He was honored by giving his birthday on 2 March to the association of National Read Across America Day. He was a beloved children’s book author. Geisel has also received Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Children’s Special. Geisel’s first work will be adapted as a cartoon from his published work Horton Hatches the Egg. Giesel used the shaded texture of pencil drawings or watercolors for making his cartoons. He had a well-rounded, unique style of giving life to his characters.
Theodor had liberal democratic political views, and he used his cartoons to demonstrate his thoughts. The Grich, released in 2018, got loads of love from the audience and is also a work of Dr.Seuss. His recent animation, which was released in 2019 and went on till 2022, was Green Eggs and Ham. Returning to Dr. Seuss’s death, the author passed away in 1991.
It has been thirty-two years since the day Dr. Seuss passed away. His death was a little hard to accept by his fans. Dr. Seuss has sold over 600 million copies of his stories which have been translated into twenty different languages. His first book, ” And To Think I Saw it on Mulberry Street,” became the bestseller of its time.

How Did Dr. Seuss Die?

The major reason behind Theodor’s death was reported to be his losing battle with cancer. Theodor died peacefully at his home, La Jolla community of San Diego. His family distributed his ashes in the Pacific ocean. Seuss suffered from Oral cancer in the 1980s and managed to fight it off by getting medical surgery.
He later developed an infection in his jaw, which later became the reason for his worsening conditions. There isn’t going to be another Dr.Seuss. Dr. Seuss had been suffering for months leading up to his death. He continues to live on in the hearts of his fans through his animated cartoons and published work.
Honors Achieved By Dr. Seuss
A garden named Dr.Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden opened in Springfield in honor of Dr.Seuss in 2002. The garden features several of his animated characters. Dr. Seuss became a part of the California Hall of Fame in 2008. Google changed its logo in 2009 for a while in honor of Dr.Seuss on his birthday.
He has achieved two Emmy Awards, two Academy Awards, a Peabody Award, and the Pulitzer Prize. Dr. Seuss has also been featured in the Forbes list of the highest-paid dead celebrities since the magazine was first published.
