Ottoman Chapter 21 has Yuuki and Souya enjoying personal time after they have gone through a great ordeal in the last few chapters. The story has set the two as a couple getting to, but the two are now starting to become opposites little by little. The first instance of it was when Yuuki was infected with alien bacteria that threatened her life.
Souya worked tooth and nail to save his wife from the problems, and things seemed to go well for a while. But when it came to getting Yuuki getting rid of her bacteria, she bonded with it. The good news was she got her leg back. The bad news was she couldn’t go into negative emotions, or the bacteria would take over her body. Yuuki’s leg was cut down from her knee, but the infection has spread to her left hip.
Sure, she is not a damsel in distress, but her powers will cost her mind at one point if it keeps on going. And to mentally recover from the ordeal, Yuuki had been on a break for a while until recently.

Ottoman Chapter 21 will see the pair develop in small ways. Even if Souya’s powers work in opposition to the aliens they are fighting, he is not exactly at an advantage. He is also the only one that has to figure out how to increase the power output of the alien that has bonded with him. Though he has the guidance of his alien, he is still slow in the process.
Moreover, his enemies have also evolved to the point where they are no longer just mindless aliens but humans that have gained control of them, a whole family of them. They had been working in secret to rule over the world, and they have had fair success so far. Earth Defense force is a hindrance to their goals, but that is just that.
They have greater numbers and are seemingly more coordinated than their adversaries. However, they don’t intend to sit ducks while the EDF (Earth Defense Force) improves. They have been making preparations of theirs as well, and in doing so, they might make Souya cross a line he wouldn’t want to.
