Pride Month is officially on the road to its end this year, and celebrations so far have been beyond lit! Pride Month is devoted to LGBTQ+ Pride and has been a practice for several decades, since 1969, after the Stonewall Rebellion, a bunch of protests organized by the gay community back then.
The tradition continues on still and is now an opportunity for glorifying the LGBTQ+ community and their culture by providing platforms and opportunities for them to speak their truth.
Hulu made sure that these celebrations were spread far and wide to make sure that Pride “never stops.” Their epic live-streaming sessions and campaigns were a great initiative that really did bring in more viewers, supporters, and awareness towards the LGBTQ+ community and their culture.
This is the third year that Hulu has actively promoted Pride content on its platform by expanding the program’s reach to all of its subscribers. This year, Hulu made sure that Pride would be accessible to all its subscribers regardless of who or where they were.
They collaborated with a host of artists from the LQBTQ+ community this year, with iconic drag queen Bianca Del Rio leading their “Pride Never Stops” campaign and the ‘Pass the Mic’ initiative that was put into place to spread pride energy as much as they could.

Dazzling Drag Queen Bianca Del Rio Hosts #PrideNeverStops Campaign Presented By Hulu, Shares Her Thoughts On The Campaign
The legendary Drag Queen Drag Bianca Del Rio hosted this year’s Pride Never Stops campaign and ‘Pass The Mic’ initiative. Hulu spread its pride allyship by live-streaming multiple pride marches on June 25th across several cities in the United States Of America, like New York City and San Francisco. The campaign also had several online influencers act as “digital correspondents” and share their thoughts and experiences through live streams.
Hulu brought pride to all its subscribers from all countries and made it so that everyone could tune in and participate in the celebrations virtually. Although this did leave a few conservative subscribers disgruntled, Hulu did not back down and had a drag icon speak for their campaign.
Biance Del Rio spoke extensively in support of the platform’s efforts saying that everyone could tune in and see live streams of some of the nation’s largest Pride marches and that if people are going to stop the movement in particular areas, allies and members of the community could at least watch from their homes and show their pride.
She pointed out that the “Pride Never Stops” campaign is one that is crucial at a time when the LGBTQ+ community is coming under “legislative attack.” She called for treating the members of her community with respect as she emphasized that they are human beings, too, who pay taxes and are solid contributing members of society.
She spoke about her experience as a child growing up with no drag shows on television. She said that they never could discuss it and that her first association with anything gay was from the TV show ‘Solid Gold.’ He shared how he was excited to even see Carol Burnett, and it is scary to think that it wasn’t that long ago that the world was so unsupportive and closed-minded regarding topics like this.

Bianca started off the campaign by putting in her two cents’ worth about what ‘Pride Never Stops’ means to her and giving advice to her fellow LGBTQ+ community members. She stated that the campaign means staying visible and being out there, and being one’s authentic self.
She also said that it means realizing that some challenges one may have in front of oneself right now, one can easily overcome. She wrapped up her statement with a piece of advice, telling everyone to “Stay true to it and keep fighting.”
She also spoke about Hulu and its initiative, telling us that she is very excited about the work that Hulu has been doing to support the LGBTQ community at a time when making Pride accessible to everyone is more important than ever.
She thought back to her childhood once again and said it would have meant a lot to have this type of visibility and celebration of Pride on TV growing up. She expressed her how honored she is to be a small part of bringing Pride to the next generation to let them know that her community is here and that their voices matter.
Bianca Del Rio turned out to be a perfect host for the campaign as she really understood the value of spreading Pride as widely as possible, especially as she had lived a life where Pride was not welcomed by those around her. As Pride Month comes to an end, people are quite sad that the celebrations are fizzling out but are delighted by its success this year!
