There are numerous underrated groups in the Korean music industry, in addition to the most well-known ones. Many small companies debut in boy and girl groups. But only a select handful achieve a particular level of fame. There is one such girl group that deserves more recognition.
ICHILLIN’ is a Korean girl group consisting of seven members. The group is under KM Entertainment, created in the year 2021. The members include E. Ji, Joonie, Jiyoon, Chaerin, Yeju, and Chowon. On the 15th of July, 2022, Sohee, a former participant in the group, decided to leave. Got’Ya was their first digital single, which marked their debut on the 8th of September, 2021.
There are two words that make up ICHILLIN. The first is Aisling, which denotes dreams and vision, and the second is Chillin, which symbolizes calmness or coolness. Merging these two elements was created to aim to inspire relaxation and daydreaming in music listeners. The fandom name of the group is Willing, which means to be lively or enthusiastic. ICHILLIN’ are enthusiastically loved by Willing.
Debut of ICHILLIN
On the 30th of July, 2021, KM Entertainment announced that a girl group with seven members would be making their debut. Through a profile video with their profile images, they were initially introduced to the audience. E.Ji, Chowon, and Jackie were the first three members to be unveiled on the 2nd of August.
Chaerin and Sohee were revealed as the group’s fourth and fifth members on the 3rd of August. Joonie and Yeju were the final two members to be introduced the following day. Due to significant advancements in the album’s completion, which were reported on the 17th of August by their company, the seven-member group’s scheduled 25th of August debut has been postponed. On the 8th of September, 2021, ICHILLIN made its debut.

Members of ICHILLIN
Currently, ICHILLIN’ has seven members. On the 15th of July, 2022, Sohee resigned from the group, as revealed by Km Entertainment. The company made the decision that the group would initially operate and carry forward the activities with six members. And later that year, Jeong Jiyoon joined the group, who was an ex-member of Girls Planet 999.
Now ICHILLIN is comprised of seven members, including Jiyoon, E.Ji, Jackie, Joonie, Chaerin, Yeju, and Chowon.
Jiyoon
Jeong Jiyoon, popularly known as Jiyoon, was born on the 15th of September, 2000. She has the position of the main vocalist in the group. 22-year-old South Korean member is fond of photography, watching series and dramas. Jiyoon enrolled in the Power Vocal Academy and Def Dance Skool. She got eliminated in the 8th episode of Girl’s Planet 999 in 2021. She is the youngest in the family and has two elder sisters. Jiyoon was in Polaris Entertainment as a trainee. Her MBTI type is INFP.
E.Ji
Choi Jiwon, popularly known as E.Ji, was born on the 8th of November, 2000, in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, South Korea. She has the position of Leader, Main Dancer, and Sub-Vocalist in the group. She attended the Myeongsin Girls High School. E.Ji is known to learn the choreography fast and was also the first member to be introduced. She likes to listen to DAY6. E.Ji was under Fantagio as a trainee. Her MBTI type is ISFJ.
Jackie
Kang Chaeyeon, popularly known as Jackie, was born on the 17th of November, 2001, in Los Angeles, California, United States. Her English name is Jacqueline Kang. She has the position of Main Rapper and Lead Dancer in the group. Jackie attended Beverly Hills High School. She was the third member to be introduced to the group. Just like half of kpop idols, she also likes mint chocolate. Her MBTI type is INFP.
Joonie
Park Joonhee, popularly known as Joonie, was born on the 24th of May, 2002, in Los Angeles, California, United States. She has the position of Lead Vocalist and Sub-Rapper in the group. 21-year-old Joonie was the last to be introduced to the group in 2021. She attended Crescenta Valley High School and has a knack for cooking, drawing, and photography. Joonie was under YG Entertainment as a trainee. She is the eldest sister of the three younger brothers. Her MBTI type is ENFP/ ENFJ.
Chaerin
Park Chaerin, popularly known as Chaerin, was born on the 31st of March, 2003, in Gimhae, Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea. She has the position of Main Vocalist in the group. She attended Incheon Wondang High School. Chaerin was the fourth member to be introduced to the group in 2021. She was a trainee for six months under the company. Her MBTI type is ISFP.
Yeju
Kim Yeju, popularly known as Yeju, was born on the 1st of September, 2004, in Wonju, Gangwon, South Korea. She has the position of Lead Dancer, Sub-Vocalist, and Center in the group. She was the last one to be introduced to the group in 2021. The former member of ICHILLIN’ Sohee and Yeji are known to be classmates. She was under Fantagio as a trainee. She gave the name Healings to their fans before the official fandom name. Her MBTI type is ENFP.
Chowon
Kim Chowon, popularly known as Chowon, was born on the 18th of August, 2005, in Boryeong, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea. She has the position of Main Dancer, Sub-Vocalist, and also the maknae of ICHILLIN’. Chowon was the second member to be disclosed to the public. She was also under Fantagio as a trainee. Except for E.Ji, Chowon picks up the choreography quickly. She likes mint chocolate as well. Her MBTI type is ENFJ-T.
Albums of ICHILLIN
Following the digital releases of GOT’Ya on the 8th of September as their first signal and Fresh as their second signal on the 11th of November of 2021, ICHILLIN worked toward the release of their very first mini album or EP. Bridge of Dreams was their first extended play, released on the 27th of April, 2022. The album’s title track was Play Hide & Seek, and it also included their previously released singles.
With a new member in the group, ICHILLIN made a comeback on the 3rd of November, 2022, with their third digital single titled, Draw (My Time), as announced on the 27th of October, 2022. But the comeback was delayed due to the Seoul Halloween crowd crush. Then, it was released on the 10th of November, 2022.
Following the announcement of their third digital single, Draw (My Time), on the 27th of October 2022, ICHILLIN made a reappearance on the 3rd of November 2022 with a new member joining the group. However, the Seoul Halloween crowd crush caused a delay in the comeback. On the 10th of November, 2022, it was finally made public.
On the 23rd of March, 2023, the group’s fourth digital single, Challenger, featuring the title track Alarm, was made available. Later, on the 2nd of May, they declared their fifth digital single to be released on the 11th of May, 2023. It was titled Siren, which was a B-side track of Challenger.
Now, ICHILLIN is ready to make a comeback with another banger, as announced by the group on the 28th of June. Their follow-up extended play, I am On It!, will be available on the 19th of July, 2023. Kick-Start will act as the album’s lead single and also includes all three of ICHILLIN’s digital singles.
