Pokemon Indigo League
Pokemon Indigo League

Pokemon continues to stand as among the most successful animated franchises on the planet. The franchise includes best-selling video games and an established anime series. Pokemon anime, which follows original storylines not seen in the games, has expanded throughout the world since 1997.

Since the show is still going strong, there are more than 900 episodes spread across 19 seasons, but the portion of them that most viewers remember the most is now referred to as Indigo League. It is made up of the first 80 or so episodes and primarily features the 151 Pokémons that were first seen in the first Pokémon games and trading cards.

The series still receives new episodes nearly every week, despite the inconsistent quality. It’s not surprising that fans are scrambling to find the best locations to watch Pokemon Indigo League given that Ash’s journey of becoming the Pokemon Master comes to an end in 2023.

Pokemon Indigo League Plot

The anime centers on Ash Ketchum, a perpetually ten-year-old boy who wants to be a Pokémon Master with high goals and dedication to the hard work needed to succeed as a top trainer. He leaves Pallet Town after staying up too late on the first morning of his quest and missing out on the customary starter Pokémon given out by local Pokémon expert Professor Oak. Instead, Ash is given the rowdy electric mouse Pokémon Pikachu; however, the two quickly develop a bond that becomes the series’ main sweetheart.

Shortly after leaving, Ash encounters Misty, a young girl who wishes to surpass the training ability of her gifted elder sisters. Ash also meets Brock, a gym leader responsible for his numerous younger siblings, and longs to leave his community. Together, the three explore the fictional Kanto Region, gathering Pokémon, gaining badges for the Indigo League competition, and dodging the hilariously inept Team Rocket—James, Jesse, and Meowth—who want to kidnap Pikachu for their boss.

Where To Watch Pokemon Indigo League

Pokemon Indigo League, which ran in Japan from 1997 to 1999, is the very first season of the classic Pokemon series. It aired from 1998 to 2000 in the US, on The WB, then in 2003, it debuted on Cartoon Network in India. In Japan, Pokemon is referred to as Pocket Monsters. There are over 82 episodes in the Pokemon Indigo League Season and we will provide you with five ways places where you can watch this season.

Pokemon Indigo League can be streamed on Netflix in the US with a paid subscription. If you don’t already have a Netflix account, you can sign up for one of their Basic HD plans for $9.99 per month, Standard HD plans for $15.49 per month, or Premium 4K plans for $19.99 per month. There is a very comprehensive list of more Pokemon episodes on Netflix. This comprises the most recent season’s new episodes of Master Journeys.

Amazon Prime

It’s also possible to watch Pokemon Indigo League on Amazon Prime Video. If you don’t already have one, you can join up for a free trial of Amazon Prime before buying a subscription. The cost of an Amazon Prime membership is $14.99 per month or $139 per year.

Except for Journeys and Master Journeys, almost all of the seasons are available on Amazon. In other words, Amazon is a great option for binge-watching and starting a whole episode collection. That is why Amazon ranks at the top of this list of the best platform to watch Pokemon Indigo League.

Pokemon TV

Then there is Pokemon TV which is a part of the Pokemon Company itself. On the website, you can watch the whole seasons of the anime and exclusive specials. Sadly, not all seasons are available at once on the website. It is impossible to save any episodes or movies before they leave because they are updated frequently. Pokemon TV is free to watch, but if binge-watching is what you’re after, you might want to go elsewhere.

Google Play

The Google Play store offers many Pokemon episodes, especially Pokemon Indigo League. Although not all seasons are available, viewers can still buy and save single anime episodes. Google Play also provides access to a wide selection of movies and specials. Google Play is a fantastic place to begin your episode collection, even though it doesn’t have the most complete list of seasons.

Another excellent choice for watching classic Pokemon Indigo League episodes on iTunes. Again, a lot of seasons are absent from this storefront, but you can still watch Indigo League. However, just like Google Play, iTunes still permits viewers to download and save episodes. Sadly, there isn’t a free option, and downloading iTunes is required to see these episodes.
