The Plot of Drishyam:
Georgekutty (Mohanlal) lives with his nuclear family, including his wife and two daughters. One day, his elder daughter is photographed in a bathroom by a hidden camera that belonged to Varun Prabhakar–a spoiled son of a police inspector. Varun threatens the girl that if she does not comply with his demands, he will share her pictures on social media.
Varun gets killed by the girl in the heat of the moment when the mother of the girl finds out about him, and he tries to attack her. She and her mother dispose of Varun’s body together before going to speak with Georgekutty about what happened. He plans to save his family from the law and disposes of all the evidence. Georgekutty creates a convincing cover story to explain away his and his family’s whereabouts.
However, after a brutal beating by the police, his younger daughter finally confesses where she saw the body being hidden. The police dig through the area and are shocked to find the dead body of a calf. The police cannot find the dead body of the teenage boy, so they are unable to hold Georgekutty guilty. Varun’s parents find out what he actually did and how he had raped a young girl before.
They believe they are guilty of his actions and that they raised a spoiled child. The last scene features Georgekutty walking out of the police station after signing a register. The scene changes to a flashback of Georgekutty walking out of the police station with a shovel. At that time, the police station was not yet constructed.
