Jonny Bairstow’s Serious Leg Injury: What Happened To Him?
Things on the field are over that easy, especially for the sportspersons. Also, when it comes to sports, injuries appear to be a part of it. Jonny Bairstow broke his left leg and following that, his ankle got dislocated. In case you forgot, he failed to represent England, since August 2022. Because of his horrific injury, Jonny got ruled out of England’s T20 World Cup campaign in Australia in October and November. Also, the same with the Winter Test series in Pakistan and New Zealand.
As mentioned earlier about how the ankle of his left leg dislocated, it got operated on. Little did you know, Jonny’s rehabilitation program took place for more than half a year. Once, he said, “I’m not going to be running the same as last year, but that’s okay.” As far as his injury was concerned, he reportedly got that while playing a round of golf. He accidentally slipped down a steep slope at the Pannal Golf Club in Yorkshire. It was awkward for him, as reported by Jonny himself.
Jonny Bairstow announced getting sidelined for his injury. More precisely, he posted it on his social media account, saying that his injury was all about a “broken fibula in three places which required a plate.” Also, he shared that as he dislocated his ankle, it meant that he did his syndesmosis joint and lateral ligament along with two more bits.
Guess what, Jonny Bairstow’s surgery turned out to be pretty much successful. He also updated his fans about the removal of staples. The time he shared this, it was then all about the prevention of swelling and movement of the ankle, just like before. The cricketer didn’t rush to get back to the field. He knew that he will only be getting back on the track, once he can walk with his two feet properly. That was his ultimate goal, while his recovery process was on.
