Trot is one of South Korea’s most popular and oldest genres. It trace back to 1960 and 1970 when people listened to trot music. Trot has its unique sound and scale. The early trot songs were sad and emotional. With the rise of K-pop, people started preferring hip-hop. K-pop took over the music industry.
Trot music returned and gained the lost fame. It is more upbeat, fun, and cheerful. People from rural areas prefer trot songs during festive celebrations and karaoke. Many veteran trot singers are legendary in the music industry. Now the youth are into trot songs and want to become singers. Mr. Trot and Miss Trot were popular trot reality shows on television.
According to Circle Chart, trot singers are taking over K-pop singers. Lee Chan Won, Lim Young Woong, Kim Ho Jung, and Youngtak are selling more than a million copies of their albums. CMG Stars is an entertainment agency that has been in existence since 2007. It merged with Benjamin Entertainment in 2013. MINIMANI is a three members girl group. They are under CMG Stars. MINIMANI debuted on 2nd June 2021.

Soohyun
The real name of Soohyun is Yoo Soohyun. Soohyun is the vocalist and Leader of MINIMANI. She is fluent in languages like Korean and English. Before joining MINIMANI, she was in other groups, Delight, May Queen, FLASHE, and WALWARI.
Soohyun was a trainee under agencies HIstar Entertainment, FLASHE Entertainment, and Bros Media Entertainment. In 2021, she became an artist at CMG Stars Entertainment. She was a contestant in Trot Contest, a KBS singing reality show. In 2023, Soohyun started her solo career with her first single, Chuk & Chak.

Song E

Rin
The real name of Rin is Choi Rin. Rin is the vocalist of MINIMANI. She is the youngest among the three members. Rin has completed her studies at Myongji College. She has doll-like body proportions. Her eyes are her point of charm. Rin is also a good dancer. She is also a solo artist with her first single, Moonlight Love.

MINIMANI (Trot Girl Group): Albums & Songs
MINIMANI debuted on 2nd June 2021 with their first single album, Stop. They released To Me, their second single album, on 29th October 2021. On 7th August 2022, MINIMANI released Dance Dance Dance, their first collaborative single with KSTAGE.
MINIMANI’s debut digital single, Puo Puo, was published on 23rd March 2022. The second digital single, This Year Was Good, debuted on 16th December 2022.
