In the first episode of “Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion,” we are introduced to the main protagonist, a young student living in Korea who meets an unfortunate death after she is pushed off a high-rise building by someone she can’t seem to remember. She finds herself transported into the novel she was reading called “Beatrice” as the side character Raeliana.
Raeliana lacks for nothing in life, with her father being awarded the title of Baron after his success in the oil industry. Unfortunately, Raeliana’s life is short-lived in the novel and she dies from arsenic poisoning. The person responsible for her death is none other than her fiance, Francis Brooks, who gave her tea laced with arsenic every evening. Raeliana’s death was meant to progress the story for the protagonist of the novel “Beatrice.”
Raeliana is reluctant to die an insignificant death at her fiance’s hands, especially since Francis unfairly takes over her father’s business and wealth after her death. Raeliana tries to break off her engagement with Francis, but he is extremely reluctant to do so, pushing back every attempt Raeliana makes to talk about breaking up. At her wits end, Raeliana decides to use the fact that she knows the other character’s secrets to her advantage.
