Reality game series like Takeshi’s Castle have been a fan favorite for a long time, and a similar reality series came out in 2023 titled Siren: Survive The Island. Directed by Lee Eun Kyung, the series focuses on 24 contestants grouped into a team of four. There are six teams in the survival game reality series divided by profession.
The teams have to trek across a kilometer mudflat and then wait for a tide to come and leave them stranded on the island. The teams compete in two different types of events for seven days, and the winner will get announced on the last day of the competition. The series is brought to the audience by none other than the streaming giant Netflix itself to enjoy. Siren Survive The Island has 10 episodes with a run time of 40 minutes.
The series had a very heartwarming ending to it, with the viewers rooting for their favorite team to come out at the top. The women showed an immense level of sportsmanship by being all smiles even in the last moments, where they happily admitted if they went down, they were going down together.

Siren Survive The Island Ending Explained:
The series begins with the team’s introduction and their members, and the importance of their work. Some of the women came to the show to challenge themselves and to see to what extent they could go. The first team to arrive at the island was Team Firefighter, and as they introduced themselves, one could see in their eyes that they loved the work they did.
The next team to introduce themselves in the series were Team Police, and they openly stated that Team Firefighter would probably be weaker than them. The third team to arrive and introduce themselves was Team Guard. The viewers got to see Team Guard in action for the first time. The fourth team to reach out and introduce themselves was Team Soldier.
The next team to arrive was Team Athlete, and Team Firefighter immediately became flustered and started to laugh at them. The last team to reach was Team Stunt, and they were considered the weakest among all the teams by other teammates. The first episode witnessed the Welcome Match, with every team giving their best to reach before other teams.
The first team to arrive after crossing the mudflat was a Team athlete, but due to the two other members missing, they are asked to rescue their teammates. Thus, the first two in the welcome challenge turned out to be the stunt team. The teams get instructed to carry their flag to their respective areas. Team Guard begins first, followed by Team Stunt as they struggle to take their flags to their designated area.
Team Soldier picked the cabin to be their base, then the Team guard chose a treehouse as their base, then the Team firefighter chose a square house as their base, the Team athlete chose a cliff tent, the Team police chose the boathouse, and in the end, Team guard gets to make their pick. Team Gaurd chose the shelter as their base.
This starts the series of numerous challenges these 24 women undertake to come out as the winner in the end. The teams had to compete in two types of events consisting of the Arena Battle, which is a head-to-head challenge involving the physical strength of an individual to win. The teams are to compete for seven days to come out as the winner in the end.
The Base battle is initiated every time the sound of a siren is heard, and each team’s flag becomes vulnerable and up for grabs. The team whose flag is captured first gets eliminated from the series. These women showed a different side of Korean women to the world because they are often considered dainty and weak due to their physical appearance.
Which Team Came Out As The Winner Of The Series?
The last episode of the series was intense, with only four teams remaining to battle and win the competition. Team Firefighters and Team athletes allied and battled against the two remaining teams. The team soldier was disqualified and sent to a defeated island, a direct result of the altercation and heated argument occurring between the three teams.
Once Team Soldier arrives at the defeated island, they get a chance to reclaim their position and return to the Island of fire. As Team Soldier returns to the island, Team Athletes and Team Firefighters ally together, and their target is the team soldier. Thus, in the end, the Team athlete emerged as the winner of the survival game series.
The series ends with fireworks going off and Team Athlete standing there enjoying the view; the screen goes blank, thus hinting towards a new season. The last thing a Team athlete gets is a placard with Go written on it.
