It only makes sense that OTT platform Netflix keeps it up with Rob Zombie producing a Herman Munster movie, Stranger Things bringing back 1980s music and aesthetics in TikTok among zoomers! In addition to adding to Mike Flanagan’s workload for Halloween 2016, the good folks at Netflix also persuaded gothic icon Tim Burton to create a Wednesday Addams revival series on Netflix! So let’s explore the Wednesday Addams Netflix release date.
If you weren’t aware, Netflix enlisted Tim Burton to complete the move from theaters to streaming! Hey! Why not this person and a project he enjoys if they could get Scorsese to do it? So without further ado, let’s look at this new product that will soon be available on the massive streaming service Netflix!

Who is Wednesday Addams?
One of the characters in the Addams Family comics and television show is Wednesday Addams. She is Pugsley Addams’ sister and the child of Gomez and Morticia Addams. Wednesday is described as being gloomy, dreary, and dark. Wednesday is a little girl who is fascinated by dark and macabre things. She is frequently referred to as the “Goth girl” or “scary kid.” Wednesday has a mischievous side and is frequently observed planning mischief or pulling pranks on her family and friends, despite the fact that she seems to be a sweet and innocent young child.
Attending funerals gives Wednesday the opportunity to indulge in her passion for all things gloomy and macabre. Christina Ricci portrayed Wednesday in the Addams Family films; Jenna Ortega will take her place in this version.

What Could Wednesday Be About?
The series will follow Wednesday Addams through her years as a high school student at the Nevermore Academy in a coming-of-age supernatural mystery comedy. While balancing her new connections, she seeks to hone her psychic talents, halt a horrifying killing spree of locals, and unravel the mystery that affected her family 25 years ago.
Wednesday Trailer Breakdown
The trailer begins at Nancy Reagan High School, where the normal kids go about their day. In the voiceover, we hear that Wednesday has had some trouble adjusting, being in eight different schools in five years. Wednesday walks down the aisle, where everybody stares at her while wearing colorful attires. But she goes about her business wearing black and making her way into the swimming pool where some boys are playing Waterpolo, who call her a freak. She tells them that the only one who gets to torture her brother is her while releasing a pack of piranhas in the pool that viciously attack the swimmers. Wednesday smiles as the pool paints itself red with blood. In the background, we hear some Edith Piaf.
We then learn that Wednesday got expelled and now must enlist into Nevermore Academy her father, Gomez Addams, tells her that she will like that academy as she feels reluctant to go. Then one of the Nevermore girls asks her if she wants to take a “stab at being social,” to which she replies that she likes stabbing. The trailer then shows us doing some fencing Wednesday and fast cut-scenes of what the season looks like, concluding with the title screen.
Wednesday Addams Netflix Release Date
Wednesday still doesn’t have an official release date, however, we could expect that to change very soon, as Netflix prepares a special series of Halloween releases to compete with other OTT streaming platforms like Hulu, which always showcase lots of special content.
