Let’s talk about the new show, Sherdil Shergill. When Dhooper left Kundali Bhagya, people assumed he was on paternity leave because his wife Vinny Arora was expecting their first kid. The rumors were dispelled when he shared a photo with Naagin 5 actress Surbhi Chandna, which quickly went popular on the internet.
It was then revealed that the two are reunited for the rom-com drama Sherdil Shergill after briefly sharing a screen in Naagin 5 when they became close friends. Both performers express their joy at returning to the program and cooperating as the lead actors.
Dheeraj Dhooper, who rose to prominence as Prem Bharadwaj in Sasural Simar Ka and Karan Luthra in Kundali Bhagya, is poised to return to TV screens with his forthcoming serial Sherdil Shergill. Having been a part of the serial for almost 5 years, he not only built a large fan following via his acting but also through his on-screen relationship with co-star Shraddha Arya. With this new program, he will once again conquer the small screen.
According to reports, actress Erica Fernandes was in discussions to portray the female lead, but Surbhi was eventually cast opposite Dhooper in the titular role. In addition to these two, Sai Ballal, Sagar Saini, Anindita Chatterjee, and Mohit Sharma will appear in the romantic comedy-drama serial.
What has happened so far in the Show?
Manmeet plays a single mother who goes to school for her son’s admission and is confronted with questions such as – Who is the father, why is there no father, modern girls don’t need a partner – to which Manmeet responds calmly. It also shows Manmeet, the family’s apple-eyed daughter with big dreams, and how one single step of hers shatters her bond with her father. Manmeet also has a sister who is about to marry, and her in-laws are heavily influenced by the elder’s popularity and thus want her to attend the wedding.
Manmeet’s backstory gradually unravels to us that she did get ready for an arranged marriage and even said yes to a person. However, Manmeet watches as her dream of creating a structure to rival the Burj Khalifa is dashed in front of the man, who now has a job in Dubai and a home right next to the Burj Khalifa. While Manmeet says no to the guy, she gets insulted and cursed by her father, stating ‘you will die alone’.
Manmeet chooses an IVF as a result of her decision to embrace her desire to have children. You will cringe to your very core when you hear Manmeet’s father say, “uss cheez ko mat leke aana,” in reference to her son. Speaking of Dheeraj Dhoopar, who plays Raj Kumar Yadav, Manmeet never misses an opportunity to show Raj the mirror and tell him that he is only what he is because of his family’s status.
Sherdil Shergill appears to be promising, with two huge stars teaming together for the first time. It would be fascinating to watch how Manmeet’s narrative progresses and how Raj decides to become a stand-up comic because we haven’t seen any amusing side of him so far.

Overall, Manmeet’s relationship with the small boy who plays her son is endearing. Surbhi and Dheeraj’s coupling is equally unique. Also, Surbhi underplays Manmeet compared to how successful her character is created, and we like to see a bit more strong and fiery side of her.
The show will be really fascinating because both stars are playing characters that think significantly differently than each other. Whereas Raj is a laid-back person, Manmeet is outspoken, strong, and badass. What happens next is the premise of the curiosity of fans worldwide.
