Let’s find out about Tomorrow Never Dies Filming Locations. James Bond observes a terrorist arms bazaar and recognizes Henry Gupta as a “techno terrorist” who is purchasing a GPS encoder that was stolen from the United States.
In the commotion that ensues as Bond commandeers a Russian plane carrying nuclear torpedoes, Gupta makes off with the encoder. To send the British frigate HMS Devonshire off course and into Chinese waters, where Carver’s stealth ship, commanded by Stamper, sinks the frigate with a sea drill and steals one of its missiles, Gupta, who works for media tycoon Elliot Carver, uses an encoder.
Before the British and Chinese declared war, Bond had 48 hours to look into the disaster. In Hamburg, Bond looks into Carver, seduces Paris, and takes the GPS encoder.

In the first teaser, Bond is shown attacking a terrorist arms market “on the Russian border” on his own. Altiport de Peyresourde-Balestas (LFIP), in the middle French Pyrenees, is one of the few high-altitude airfields in the entire globe.
The mountain pass Col de Peyresourde, on the D618 route between Bagnères-de-Luchon and Arreau, is one of the most well-known cycling hills in the Pyrenees. Thus Tour de France fans would certainly recognize the name.
When Bond receives the inescapable call from M (Judi Dench), he relaxes at New College, Oxford, where he is learning a new language after the impossibly near escape. Bond is now being driven into the courtyard of Somerset House in the Strand, London WC2, even though the genuine MI6 headquarters at Vauxhall was visible in GoldenEye.
This well-known filming location has also appeared in Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow, Keira Knightley’s historical biopic The Duchess, Billy Wilder’s excellent The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes as the “Diogenes Club,” where Holmes first meets his older brother Mycroft (Christopher Lee), King Ralph as “Buckingham Palace,” Shanghai Knights as “Beverly Hills,” and even Bride and Prejudice.
When Bond arrives in Germany, he meets Q at the airport in Hamburg. Although this is plausible, the lavish party where Bond reconnects with ex-girlfriend Paris Carver (Teri Hatcher) is located closer to the filming location.
The IBM Building, located in New Square, Bedfont Lakes, Feltham, south of Heathrow Airport, serves as the “Hamburg” core of Carver’s media empire. The printers of the London Evening Standard and the Daily Telegraph, Westferry Printers, 235 Westferry Road, in Millwall Dock, and Harmsworth Quays Printers Ltd., of Surrey Quays Road, SE16, have combined to become And Tomorrow’s Print Works.
The Atlantic Hotel Kempinski, An der Alster 72-79 on the shores of the Aussenalster Lake in central Hamburg, is the outside of Bond’s German hotel. The Stoke Park Club, Park Road, Stoke Poges in Buckinghamshire, is the location where he discovers Paris Carver dead and fights hitman Dr. Kaufman (Vincent Schiavelli).
Bridget Jones’s Diary, Layer Cake, the rom-com Wimbledon, Bride and Prejudice, and of course, the earlier Bond classic Goldfinger were all filmed here. The iconic Level Four of the multi-story parking at Brent Cross Shopping Centre in Golders Green, north London, serves as the location of the Atlantic garage, from which Bond escapes in the remote-controlled BMW 750.
The stunts generated a little bit more smoke than expected, so the fire department was called. Though the last jump into the phony “Avis car rental” office is located at Lange Mühren, right across from Hamburg Hauptbahnhof, across the eastern end of the shopping strip Mönckebergstraße.
RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk serves as the US airbase at “Okinawa, in the South China Sea,” despite Jack Wade (Joe Don Baker) wearing a floral shirt. The massive tank constructed for James Cameron’s Titanic at Rosarito Beach in Baja, California, Mexico, is used for the sea landing.
The ‘Saigon’ scenes were shot in Bangkok, Thailand, since negotiations to film in Vietnam broke down. The Banyan Tree Bangkok, located at 21/100 South Sathorn Road in Sathorn, is the tower that Bond and Wai Lin (Michelle Yeoh) descend on a banner.
Before reaching its climax on a stage constructed at the former Radlett Aerodrome site in Frogmore, Hertfordshire, which had been transformed into Aeon Studios, the motorcycle chase roars past Tannery Row and Mahogany Wharf in Bangkok.
