Why Did Breen Leave Brokenwood?

Whenever the audience thinks of any detective television series, The Brokenwood Mysteries comes up as one of their favorite ones. This murder mystery show has completed its seven seasons successfully, and at present days The Brokenwood Mysteries is entertaining the audience with its eighth season. This show has been produced under the banner of South Pacific Pictures. However, Katie Wolfe, Murray Keane, Josh Frizzell, 

Mike Smith, Oliver Driver, and many more are behind the arrangements of scenes and background of the drama as directors. On the other hand, Kelly Martin and John Barnett have served The Brokenwood Mysteries as executive directors.

The first episode of The Brokenwood Mysteries premiered on 28th September 2014. From 2014 to 2019, this series used to air on Prime. But for internal reasons, from 2021 till now, the show has been streaming on TVNZ 1.

After the ending days of the seventh season of The Brokenwood Mysteries, South Pacific Pictures conveyed via Twitter the renewal of the show for the eighth season on 27th February 2022.

However, later on, Acorn TV expressed that from 1st July 2022, the spectators of the show could attend the first episode of the eighth season. It also revealed the title of the first episode, ‘From the Cradle to the Grave’. 

A Short Recap About The Brokenwood Mysteries

The story of this drama focuses on a detective named Mike Shepherd, who was ordered to shift to Brokenwood from Auckland to lead an investigation of a murder case. After finishing off his duty at that place, Shephard decides to restart a chapter of his life by pausing at Brokenwood. He had a clear vision that this decision of him could lead to his demotion to Detective Senior Sergeant.

But still, he chose whatever he preferred. Shepherd liked the quietness and beauty of the city, which accepted him wholeheartedly during his investigation.

On the other hand, he was also enclosed by the assistance of the local Detective named Kristin Sims. As the story of this series proceeds, a distinct bonding between these two strengthens, which commences a procedure of appreciating each other.

Sam Breen was one of the young officers of this series who often got involved in several awkward situations during his interrogation procedure with the suspects. In the series, he also had a love relationship with a girl named Roxy.

Roxy is an independent girl who likes to lead her life on her terms. She used to work in the Solomon Islands. However, Breen had a long journey with this series. This character ended at the beginning of the seventh season. 

Who Played The Character Of Sam Breen? 

Nic Sampson used to play the character of Detective Constable Sam Breen. Nic Sampson is a well-known actor and comedian from New Zealand. Sampson is best known as Chip Thorn, the Yellow Mystic Ranger on the notable moat show named Power Rangers Mystic Force. He has also worked as a voice artist for the Sentinel Knight in the Power Rangers Operation Overdrive. 

His dedication to his work helped him to achieve Sampson won the Best Newcomer at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival, and so on. 

At the beginning of the seventh season, Nic Sampson quit The Brokenwood Mysteries. As he had to move back to his fiancee in the United Kingdom. So he had to leave the show.

After he resigned from the show, the makers replaced the character of Breen with D.C. Chalmers, who Jarod Rawiri portrayed. However, the creators put this character in front of the audience in the second episode of the seventh season of The Brokenwood Mysteries.
