Namgoong Ryong, the patriarch of the Namgoong family, decides to buy mountain ginseng for 300 Nyang from Jeok since Namgoong Ryong prefers the higher price of the ginseng rather than dealing with the Fire King. The Namgoong family is one of the five great families that rule around the world, along with the ten great sects. The Namgoong family has more than 100 family members and thousands of members, including the martial artists under their command.

The ruler of Anhui has significant support from the Murim, due to which they have been at odds with Chenongang since he took a murderer who killed numerous innocent people as his disciple. Jin Tae Kyung asks Namgoong Ryong about the Heavenly Sword King who visited him earlier. Jeok mentions that he owes the Heavenly Sword King a great debt. The Heavenly Sword King saved Jo Pil from Jeok Cheongang and helped him flee Anhui. Jeok has only met him twice and knows that the Heavenly Sword King is someone who is obsessed with swords.
