She recalled how her now husband was her hood find then and someone she barely knew. The singer admitted that Josh was extremely supportive and understanding and helped her during this difficult phase of her life. She credited her beau for being someone who could see through her, and that is how the very first verse of the song.

While Amy Lee wrote the song Bring Me Back To Life went on to become a big hit and was also included in the movie Daredevil starring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, it seems like the writer of the song was not on board with the inclusion of the male vocal rap! Amy Lee further revealed that she never performs the rap bit herself while on tour unless someone can jump in and do it. Lee admitted that she stopped performing it a long time ago as the band never really did perform the rap part.
However, Amy states that if the band is in the same town as Paul McCoy, who did the part in the song, they would definitely have him come up as it would be fun and nostalgic. Amy Lee explained that the sound of the rap is not her style, and admittedly the inclusion of that part was a difficult pill to swallow, even if it was just on one song.
