The 26th Detective Conan movie, titled Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine has been running in the theatres for a while now and it is announced that the movie has topped the box office for two consecutive weekends. The anime has been running for a long time and with several movies already a hit among the fans, it comes as no surprise that the latest installment of the series is very successful.
In the very first week of its release, it was stated to have earned a revenue of 3.146 billion yen. This amount has been noted as the highest opening gross of the year. Meitantei Conan Haibara Ai Monogatari: Kurogane no Mystery Train is a previous theatrical installation that covers the “Jet-Black Mystery Train” arc and makes a connection to the new film Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine.

The 26th Detective Conan movie trailer was released to give a glimpse of what to expect from the audience. The trailer showcased a preview of the theme song “Utsukushii Hire” (Beautiful Fin) by the rock band SPITZ. There were also some of the cast names announce during this trailer.
The film was directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa with Takeharu Sakurai as the screenplay writer. Given that he has written the screenplay of several Detective Conan films, fans expected the expert to do a good job. The music is also composed by one of the notable names in the industry, Yūgo Kanno. The film has over 20 characters and unfolds one of the most interesting cases that Conan ever had to face. Fans are lining the theatres to watch the screening.

Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine Plot
The plot of the movie takes place on the Hachijō-jima island which is located in the south of central Tokyo. Several engineers have gathered from around the world to be part of the first people who will witness the launch of a new system. The place is a highly protected and important place since it is the Interpol marine facility “Pacific Buoy” which is the site of the operation.
The new system is a high-level program that allows a connection among all the law enforcement camera systems around the world and enables facial recognition all across the globe. It seems like an amazing piece of technology and undoubtedly Conan is also here as he received an invitation from Sonoko to see the whales. He is not alone though as he has brought along with him his friends Kogoro, Ran, Agasa, and Haibara, as well as the Detective Boys.
Soon after, as the plot develops, Conan receives a message from Subaru who states that a Europol agent has been murdered in Germany by Gin. Due to this turn of events, Conan takes it upon himself to tour the facility and figure out what is going on. The Black Organization makes an appearance and kidnaps a young female engineer to gather important info from her.
The story unfolds from there and the excitement of the adventure keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. No wonder the movie has drawn such a large crowd over the period of two weeks.

The movie has been doing great at the box office and has gained acknowledgment from the fans. As a long-running series, Detective Conan has a very huge fan base who have been following Conan on a journey for several years.
The movie has earned an impressive 1.615 billion yen (12 million USD) till now and has held its position at the No.1 spot of the chart. The franchise’s 26th feature film was released in Japan on April 14 and it is currently known as the seventh top-grossing film in the series’ theatrical version. The 19th film Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Infernos was holding the position in the seventh place but now it has been surpassed by the new release.
A report has also stated that the 26th Detective Conan movie opening gross is 164% higher than that of last year’s Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween.
