Few entrepreneurial shows make it as far as ABC’s Shark Tank. Across its dilated run, the weekly entrepreneurial coaching show has shown us hits, and busts as aspiring company owners shoot a pitch to billionaires in hopes of raising capital to boost sales for their company’s services and products in search of financial freedom.
With sharks like Mark Cuban, Lori Greiner, Barbara Corcoran, and Kevin O’Leary jumping in to give their two cents on business management, every episode is different and a joy to watch.
Followers of this weekly program might be wondering what happened when the last episode didn’t air at its scheduled time last Friday, and besides doing a recap of the last aired show, we’re going to explain to you the reasons behind that unexpected postponement, don’t worry, sharks! Shark Tank didn’t leave; it just took a small break! With that aside, let’s get in the water to see what these aspiring entrepreneurs have to offer to the Shark Tank.
Shark Tank Season 14 Episode 20 Recap
Shark Tank kicks off with an entrepreneur named Kendra from Colorado, who wanted $200,000 in exchange for 10% of her business; her product is called “Honey Crunchies,” a honey-based, gluten-free, soy-free, and dairy-free snack that ran in her family for a couple of years.
The sharks give the energy bars a taste, and the negotiation begins after a round of background questions; the main hurdles are distribution and costs. For Mark, the product is too difficult to put into the market as it is a very competitive one, so he’s out. Lori, she simply doesn’t like the idea, so she’s out. For Barbara, it’s about the numbers, so she’s out. Kevin was very inquisitorial, which made Kendra cry and sob as he was also out, and nobody was invested there.

Gender Neutral Clothes
Next up is a couple of women from California pitching gender-neutral clotheslines called Dapper Boi, seeking a quarter of a million dollars for a 5% stake in their company. Kevin starts asking about their sales model, which is direct-to-consumer.
The answers are evasive, so Kevin feels very skeptical about it. Barbara further inquires about their online business approach, and when the Sharks ask the women how much money they have, they answer that they’re dead broke after some bad business choices. Lori, Kevin, Daymond, and Barbara are out from the start. The last one to drop out is Mark scolding them for their business choices.
Children’s Toys
Kayla is from Ohio, and her company “Play Maysie” seeks $150,000 for a 10% stake—a set of magnetic toys that are easily stackable and don’t take up much space. The Sharks try out the magnetic dollhouses, and a round of questions ensues about her past. After that, Mark asks about the numbers; Daymond and Kevin don’t like the idea, so they’re out.
For Lori, it’s about the concept, and for Mark, it’s about the scalability, so Barbara Corcoran jumps in with a greedy offer: 150 grand for a 30% stake plus royalties of $5 until she recoups her investment. Kayla counters the offer for more financing and less stake, to which Barbara replies for an extra 100 grand in financing while keeping the staking, and the deal is done!
