Cameron Monaghan played Ian Gallagher. However, in this article, we will talk about who did Ian end up with in “Shameless.” The Showtime series, which was created by John Wells, launched in 2011 and followed the Gallagher family as they grew up (more or less) into responsible adults with careers, families, and significant criminal histories of their own. By the series’ conclusion, it was difficult to tie up all the different subplots for the large ensemble cast.
So, now without any further ado, let’s check out who Ian ends up with in Shameless at the end.
Who Is Ian Clayton Gallagher?
The third oldest kid in the Gallagher family, Ian Clayton Gallagher, was born in Illinois in 1996. He is frequently the most forgiving, tenacious, and comical – yet currently reckless – member of the family. His mother, Monica Gallagher, and Clayton Gallagher, Frank Gallagher’s brother, allegedly had an illicit relationship in the summer of 1995 while both were high on PCP. Ian, a gay character in the series, has a history of unhappy relationships. He dropped out of high school after joining the army, violating the law at the conclusion of Season 3.
Despite being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, Ian refuses to see a doctor and doesn’t think he needs to take medication. He was closest friends with Mandy Milkovich, the sister of the violent neighborhood thug Mickey Milkovich, and had an on-again, off-again connection with Mickey; he harbors nothing but disdain for Mandy’s violent boyfriend Kenyatta, with whom she moved away to Indiana in Season 5. In Season 8, Ian loses control and becomes a religious zealot, leading to his incarceration.

Who Does Ian End Up With In Shameless?
In the last episode, “Now Leaving Illinois,” Ian approaches Mickey only to learn that Byron, Mickey’s new lover, has Byron’s Vespa broken because Ian urinated in it. Ian may tell Mickey anything he wants to say in front of “the love of my life, Byron,” so Mickey won’t talk to him alone. Ian is asked to go to the show with them by Byron. Liam points out that Ian is still in love with Mickey, but Ian urgently searches Grindr for a date to hide it. Cole, an incredibly effeminate man, turns out to be Ian’s date, stunning both Ian and the Alibi’s customers.
Then, after insulting Mickey, Ian beat Byron while Mickey knocked out Cole as a result of his own remarks. Mickey interrupts Ian’s speech and accepts his proposal, which causes the two to kiss. Ian makes the proposal to Mickey right there and then.
Ian and Mickey
At the midpoint of the following season, Ian and Mickey made the decision to leave the Gallaghers’ house and get their own apartment, but it wasn’t on the South Side. In the series finale, Ian confesses his desire to have a child when he and Mickey are shopping for new furniture. Ian reassures Mickey that he will make a wonderful father someday as a result of Mickey’s hesitation, and it makes for a wonderfully nice scene. At the end of the series, Mickey is still hesitant, but two options are suggested: adopting one of the several abandoned Milkovich infants or Tami and Lip’s second kid.
The “Perfect” End
The last episode features Mickey and Ian searching for items for the new flat. Ian is startled to learn that Mickey has forgotten their one-year wedding anniversary and confronts Mickey about it at the end of the day. In the show’s climactic scenes, Mickey throws Ian a party at the Alibi as a surprise, and the Gallagher family and their friends come together to honor Mickey and Ian. After dancing to Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect,” Ian and Mickey leave on their honeymoon in a Mercedes that belonged to Frank’s ex-girlfriend Faye.
Ian and Mickey are celebrating their honeymoon and deciding on the last name when Terry, who is still irate, shoots up their hotel room. Mickey went out of his way to make sure his father was taken care of after becoming disabled and mourned him after he passed away despite being treated horribly by Terry. But happily, Ian and Mickey, however, end up being with each other. Thus, this was all about who Ian ends up with in “Shameless.”
