Mister Ma explained that the solitary bamboo grove had existed before the heavenly divine demon cult. It was a natural demonic forest with the densest spiritual Qi compared to any other famous mountain.
The forest was very special because the dense spiritual Qi was not spread throughout the area but only circulated within the bamboo forest. So with time, the spiritual Qi got more concentrated, and due to that, both wood Qi and earth Qi got amplified, eventually making the bamboo trees more thick and strong.
Ha-jin pointed out that the bamboo had shorter lifespans, Mister Ma told him the bamboo shoots grew exponentially faster than any other average bamboo shoot; that’s how the forest was maintained, and some of them even possessed unique powers besides being thick and strong.
Ha-jin asked him if the bamboo was used as a special medicinal herb. Mister Ma told him they had the unique power to become either a medical portion or poison. As the spiritual Qi within them was so dense, it had to be processed dozens of times before it could be used on humans for medical purposes.
