The first Crayon Shin-chan 3D CG film, titled New Dimension! Crayon Shin-chan the Movie Super-Powered Climactic Battle: Soaring Hand-Rolled Sushi, is set to release on August 4! The anime’s official news source dropped a trailer revealing the guest cast and theme song, increasing the already buzzing anticipation surrounding the film’s release. After seven years in the making, this new addition to the household franchise is ready to fuel fans’ nostalgia and take them down memory lane as they watched Shin-chan with their siblings and friends.

Shin-Chan’s 31st Movie
The anime series is based on a manga of the same name written and illustrated by Yoshito Usui. The late author didn’t just write the manga, he wrote history as the series became one of the longest-running anime, its name being said in every household worldwide. Shirogumi Inc. will animate the film while Hitoshi One directs and writes the screenplay. The movie’s theme song, Future is Yours, is performed by Sambomaster.
The Plot and Characters
Our beloved and mischievous kindergartener, Shinnosuke, unexpectedly acquires extraordinary telekinetic abilities when a luminous white light passes through Earth from space. However, this cosmic event also gives psychic powers to a man named Mitsuru Hiriya through a contrasting black light, driving him to use his powers with the intent to destroy the planet.
As fear grips Japan, Shinnosuke bravely rises as the nation’s newfound hero, taking it upon himself to defeat Mitsuru and protect his homeland from impending destruction.
The guest cast includes Mitsuru Hiriya, voiced by Tori Matsuzaka, the man who was bestowed psychic powers and plans to take over the world. Professor Ikebukuro, voiced by Mogura Suzuki, works at the National Psychic Regulatory Committee.
Negiko Shintani, voiced by Akari Kitō, an employee at the Saitama branch of the Esper Coordination Committee who helps Shin-chan use his powers and finally, Nusuttoradamus II, voiced by Katamari Mizukawa, is the leader of “Reiwa Downfall group” and wishes to take over the world.
Worth a Watch?
Truth being said, you don’t need to be convinced to watch Shin-chan nor do you require a review. If you’re looking to tune down after a tiresome day, wholesome shows are always a good choice but in this case, it’s the upcoming Shin-chan movie. The film has everything that makes a good watch; an engaging plot, a compelling character, an antagonist and a well-delivered conclusion.
Moreover, the transition from 2D animation to stunning 3D CG brings a fresh visual appeal to the Shin-chan universe. It preserves everything we love about the series while bringing a modern touch.
