In the lead, we witness actor Han Suk Kyu who is known as Dr. Romantic. His real name is Boo Yong Joo. He happens to be a triple-board-certified surgeon. We will witness that the man used to be one of the top surgeons in his field of the medical industry. He used to work at the Geosan University Hospital which is the top medical center in Seoul.
Although, we see that he goes through a pretty traumatic incident in his life that forces him to change his name to Kim Sa Bu and also disappear from his normal place of living. Later in his life, we see that he has started a new medical practice at a small hospital named Doldam. It is located in Gangwon Province.

Now that he has become a professional in the medical field and his line of work, he takes on some assistants and helps them to become great doctors by teaching them how to fight against power and money in order to look out for and prioritize his patients first.
Then in the most recent second season of the show, we saw the events taking place three years after the circumstances of the first season. We see that Kim Sa Bu is going to Geosan University Hospital in order to meet with a general surgeon and recruit them for the institution.
He comes across a doctor named Seo Woo Jin and appoints him for the role. We see that Seo Woo Jin is actually troubled by his past and even his fellow doctors at the hospital do not like to socialize with him.
Later in the season, we find out that a man named Cha Eun Jae is suspended from his service after he makes yet another mistake in the operation theater which is totally unacceptable and puts the lives of patients at risk. Thus, he now has no other choice but to leave the place and follow the other two doctors to Doldam Hospital.
