The episode revolves around Aaron’s attempt to rescue Laura from the clutches of the character known as “the highest.” Aaron pleads with Laura to leave, but she refuses because she is under the influence of some mind-altering substances provided by the highest. Laura betrays Aaron and aligns herself with the highest, who uses magical powder to incapacitate Aaron. Aaron is then locked in a freezer.
Meanwhile, other characters like Zane, River, and Ruth are involved in their own storylines. Zane wants to help Lacey and brings her food, despite the danger involved. Ruth is searching for the children, and there is tension between her and Joan. River seeks information about the location of the money and has a conversation with Lewis about impressing the highest.
