Kendall and Shiv in Succession Season 4 Episode 6
In the Succession season 4 episode 6, we can see much clear division among the siblings where Shiv knows that she has to take her position back, and Kendall wants to not go with the deal. This episode was tense. The episode started with Logan’s video in which he said his kids were useless. Well, that’s what Kendall used to hear now and then when his father was around. Because of this, Kendall doubted himself to a greater extent. Even if he was the eldest of all, his father said he wasn’t capable enough to be a CEO.
In the previous episode, we see how Kendall struggles to show his worth to his dad so that he can get the position. But failed as he took some wrong steps to do so. In the current scenario, he is the co-CEO, but he still doubts himself. At the end of the episode, we see him giving an excellent speech and getting praise. He was way too satisfied. His father’s videos and all the opinions regarding Kendall seem as if all that was to boost Kendall up.
In future episodes, we might see a more confident Kendall who will be handling things in his way. Also, while he was giving the speech, he choked a bit which shows that even if he wanted power from his father by hook and crook but he still misses him. The brothers are sidelining Shiv, hiding things from her, and kind of thinking she is incapable and powerless. But, in the episodes, it is clear that the one playing the better game is Shiv herself.
She is in with her brothers, has shooked hands with Matson, and not leaving Tom. Shiv knew that she was being avoided by her brothers, but she was not going against them when others, such as Lucas or Matson, wanted her to disclose things related to her brothers. Well, she was playing smart as she was keeping all three parties by her side. If her brothers betray her, she will have the option to destroy them. Brothers are certainly unaware of this.
Matson even told once that someone from inside (Wayster RoyCo.) is working for him secretly. Next, her relationship with Tom! In this episode, we saw Tom and Shiv get a little intimate, and they had a bit of creepy conversation. Well, it is difficult to say what’s going on in their mind. On a bonus note, Tom is unaware of the fact that Shiv is pregnant. In the episode, Shiv receives mystery calls that are considered to be from her doctor.
At last, both of these episodes are perfectly planned for the middle of the story with so many cliffhangers. How will the story twist what the viewers are thinking? Shiv is certainly going to be a bigger part later. Kendall and Roman’s partnership will either improve, or Matson might play a wicked game to drag them down. So the one question running over the minds of the viewers might be, who will win over Waystet RoyCo?
