Love Is Blind: Japan moves at a slower speed than its other Love Is Blind shows, yet it sticks to the very basic concepts of reality television. While nearly half of the show is spent on men and women getting to know one another on the opposite ends of a wall, Japan takes the time to establish distinct characters and pairs that viewers are likely going to care about.
Contrasting to the American version, which speeds ups through these very initial phases in order to get to the physical love and inevitable turmoil, Japan shows us how the people in the show do not just fall in love but also make ties with their fellow competitors, with whom they hang in the other parts of the show.
In this Netflix show, the men and women do not meet each other until they get engaged. During this time, they build friendships and bonds with their gender-respective groups. Like, all the guys will spend time together, and in another place, all the women will spend their time together.
These relationships carry on and act as a source of support once they meet a partner and move in together. They rely on one another for relationship advice because they have both had the experience of falling in love with a wall between them.
Despite facing unexpected twists and turns, love blossomed between several cast members of Love Is Blind Japan. Let’s find out where the Love Is Blind Japan couples are now.
Yudai And Nana
Yudai and Nana, a men’s hair stylist, had an interesting relationship due to their age difference. They openly admitted that it wasn’t a good idea for an older woman to date a younger man. At first, their age gap didn’t seem like a big problem. However, their differing opinions on marriage and when to have kids eventually led to the end of their relationship.
After they got out of the pods, things seemed to be going oK between the two, but it soon became apparent that the romance couldn’t survive when Yudai went to a cast party by himself. Eventually, we came to know that Yudai had not been entirely honest in the pods about many of his personal beliefs. He even admitted that the time they spent together during that episode of the show didn’t feel very real.
Despite their split, Yudai and Nana seem to be moving on with their lives. Nana also posts updates of her life on Instagram, and Yudai often posts his hairstyles and haircuts there. In one of her Instagram posts, she told that she is grateful that she met Yudai. In the same post, she then said that although their relationship didn’t work out, she really liked how Yudai was free-spirited.”
Mizuki And Priya
Mizuki and Priya were determined to make their relationship work out within the show’s concept despite they had differences. Priya was open about her career and personal goals and encouraged Mizuki to do the same. However, their discussions about the work and that sacrifices were needed to achieve their respective goals showed us that they were not completely on the same page.
Although they were careful around each other in the pods, Priya joyfully agreed to Mizuki’s proposal, and the two of them soon embarked on their journey together. Things immediately took a turn for the worst when Priya said out loud that she believed Mizuki was egotistical and Mizuki worried that he had made himself look way more ambitious than he really was. After Priya found that Mizuki was an employee of his company rather than the owner like he said he was, their love story ultimately came to an end.
Currently, based on his Instagram posts, it seems Mizuki is still content at his job, and both of them have shared memories of their time on the show. Later, Priya revealed a piece of important personal information in a post when she stated that she is single and that she is happy.
Shuntaro And Ayano
Despite how Shuntaro and Ayano’s relationship played out, it was the former who called off their marriage in the morning simply because he just wasn’t ready. He admitted that he felt as if he was pressuring her and their connection to be something that it wasn’t, and she responded that she was going to say No as well due to their age difference and other factors. Although he never received clear explanations, it was for the better, which made everything seem bittersweet.
We don’t know anything about Shuntaro, and he doesn’t seem to be very active online, but Ayano seems to be happy with her life as it is right now. Her social media accounts show that, despite continuing to work as a professional employee, she is also slowly making her way into the entertainment industry as a public person and a fashion, design, and beauty enthusiast/influencer.
Mori And Minami
Despite many fans were rooting for them, Mori and Minami ultimately decided to be happy without each other rather than stay miserable together because they were unable to resolve their disagreements the way they had wanted. They made a good decision because they are both now happier and more at ease than before, especially when it comes to who they are as individuals.
While Mori continues to practice cosmetology and dermatology at the Skin Refine Clinic in Japan and is also an entrepreneur, real estate investor, dancer, instructor, and teacher, Minami is apparently still employed in real estate. Additionally, and perhaps more significantly, she enjoys reading, traveling, watching movies, and eating in general.
Misaki And Kaoru
Due to communication problems, Misaki and Kaoru officially split up three days before their wedding. She was unable to read his feelings or interpret what he was thinking, which made her understand that she needed more for her future. As a result, she let go. Although he claimed to be an overthinker, Misaki often cracked jokes, which prevented him from getting to the center of any issue. This ultimately proved to be the doom of the whole situation. However, it went on to look as though they separated their ways.
Thus, they seem to be living very distinct lives at the moment, also Kaoru is not following Misaki on Instagram. He has returned to East Africa to restart leading the baseball squad for Kenya and to take on the role of Director of the UNSEA program. On the other side, she is still in Tokyo and is content to carry on with her profession as an artist, musician, radio host, and creative personality.
Ryotaro And Motomi
It was obvious that there was chemistry between Motomi and Ryotaro from the time they first met in the pods, so it was obvious when they decided to get married. In fact, it wasn’t surprising when they overcame their shyness at the first meeting (due to his “rugged” appearance) or their honesty while meeting their partner’s parents. In fact, they kept feeling gratefulness, as promised in the pods, and as they stood before the altar, they happily committed to doing so for the rest of their lives.
Since then, it seems like they have maintained their relationship while living in Tokyo, showing that they were first attracted to each other’s hearts and humanity. Ryotaro and Motomi haven’t made any public statements on this phase of their lives, which is unsurprising given that the Netflix original recently covered their entire story. However, we should point out that, in contrast to the latter, who works as an advertising agent, a Chinchilla mother, and a cooking aficionado, the former manages a fashion boutique and is a hairstylist.
Odacchi And Nanako
Odacchi and Nanako’s relationship is the most unexpected to have broken up, at least to us. However, the fact is that their reality simply wasn’t in line with what they thought they saw through the walls, which led Nanako to make a decision for herself by choosing not to go after such a connection.
As a result, Odacchi and Nanako both are not in a relationship and are living fulfilling careers in Kochi and Fukuoka The first is one-half of the comedy duo Atsuka Dragon, a social media influencer, and a radio host, while the latter has returned to teaching ballet while also trying modeling and pilates.
Wataru And Midori
Wataru and Midori’s story is undoubtedly memorable because of their love triangle with Priya and her worries over how he looks. Despite this, they were still able to make things work because he was still the same person she had fallen in love with within the pods and because he made an intentional effort to change his look for/with her. She soon lost her hesitation about marriage due to his confident attitude and determination in holding out his hand, resulting in a happy ending.
Contrary to what some may think, Wataru and Midori didn’t walk all over one another because they had a mutual understanding that helped them to draw lines. So, we’re glad to know that they’re still together and building a new life in Tokyo with each other and Lupin the dog. Wataru is not active on any social networking sites, despite holding a senior executive position at an IT company. Midori was once a tech consultant, but she now plans to bring new technologies to the forefront through b8ta.
