Yabako Sandrovich and MAAM have officially announced the launch of the new manga titled Isshō Senkin (The Priceless Victory) through the official Twitter account of Shogakukan‘s Manga ONE app.
It is set to launch on May 1 this year, and the premise seems to be quite interesting, according to the info available. The manga is supposed to be about an underground girl fighting group, along with their fierce battle inside and outside the ring. How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift? is also known as Danberu Nan-Kiro Moteru? and is a story of a second-year high school girl named Hibiki Sakura who seems to have the biggest appetite in the world. As a result of her binge eating, she ends up gaining weight. When the matter is brought to her, she decides to join the Silverman Gym, but reluctantly. After all, who likes to sweat in the gym, right? It seems like a lot of work for the protagonist.
However, Hibiki Sakura has a complete change of heart when she meets one of the gym trainers, Naruzo Machio, and falls in love with him. Along with Hibiki, her friend and schoolmate, Akemi Soryuin, also joins the gym as she seems to have a muscle fetish and needs a place to live out her desires. Hibiki takes it upon herself to lose weight and impress Naruzo with her charms.

An anime adaptation of How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift? was announced on January 15, 2019. The anime adaptation was undertaken by Doga Kobo, with Mitsue Yamazaki as the series director. Ai Kikuchi took the role of designing the characters, and Yukari Hashimoto was responsible for composing the music. The anime aired from July 3 to September 18, 2019.
The anime adaptation was only 12 episodes and followed the manga’s storyline. It also has a fun opening theme song which is titled “Onegai Muscle,” performed by Fairouz Ai and Kaito Ishikawa. The ending theme song is named “Macho A Name?” which has been performed by Ishikawa.

Akemi Soryuin, who is voiced by Sora Amamiya, is the student council president and excels in academics and sports. However, she has a muscle fetish and wants to become ‘macho’ herself. Ayaka Uehara, voiced by Shizuka Ishigami is Hibiki’s best friend and a trained boxer. Apart from them, we also have the male lead Naruzo Machio who has a baby face but a ripped body. He is a trainer at the Silverman Gym and Hibiki’s crush.
