Directed by Lodewijk Crijns and starring Jeroen Spitzenberger and Anniek Pheifer, this film isn’t all about star power. It’s the heart-stopping danger and excitement that makes it a must-watch.
The story follows a man named Hans, his wife, and their two daughters as they rush to a family gathering at his parent’s house. As they speed down the highway, they come across a white van strictly following the speed limit. Hans, being the arrogant bloke he is, decides to tailgate the van driver, honking his horn and irritating him. Little does anyone know the van driver is a crazed individual wielding a very unusual weapon.
A thrilling and action-packed ride ensues, leaving you on the edge of your seat. From high-speed chases to face-to-face confrontations, this movie has it all. But it’s not just mindless action; some important life lessons will be learned along the way.
And let’s not forget about the ending! It’s something that will leave a lasting impression on viewers. Trust me, and you won’t want to miss it. But there are also some details that you might have missed during the film that we’ll be sure to discuss. You can watch this movie on Amazon Prime Video.
Tailgate Movie Ending Explained
The van driver got his mobile phone number of Hans when Hans went to meet him with an angry face. As soon as he reaches the van driver to talk, the van driver tries to kill Hans, but Hans escapes from his hand. The van driver uses Hans’s phone and knows where they are going. Before Hans, the van driver reaches out to the parent’s home.
The van driver wants revenge; he wants to kill Hans and his family because they annoy him. He enters Hans’s parents’ house, attacks them, and looks them in the eye in their room. He started waiting for Hans and his family to reach the house.
A moment later, Hans arrives with his family, thinking they are safe and out of danger. But the real danger is awaiting them in the house. When Hans is about to enter the house, he finds that the main door is unlocked, but he ignores that and enters the house with his family. Upon entering the house, he and his family find no one; they keep calling their parents’ names, but all they get is pin-drop silence in return.
Hans thinks this is strange but ignores it because he wants to relax after what happened to them. But soon Hans heard some sound from upstairs of the house. He checked on them and found his parents locked up in the room.
Hans tries to open the locked room, but he can’t. Then he sees the van driver from the window, and Hans gets afraid. He quickly goes downstairs to protect his family. Hans gets outside but finds no one—the van driver just disappeared—and returns to the house. Hans and his family locked every door from the inside.
Hans and his family try to open the locked room but cannot. Hans tries to break the door and succeeds, but as soon as he enters the room, he discovers that his parents are not there; it’s just a tape recorder playing on a loop.
Han and his family got worried and scared about their parents. Hans hasn’t called the police yet because of the fear that the van driver will kill them if he calls the police. Suddenly Hans heard the sound of a back door opening. He went there to check and found out that the door was open.
The van guy was hiding somewhere in the house. Hans decided to talk to him. Suddenly the house light went off, and it was complete darkness. Hans heard the screaming of his children and ran towards their cries. When he got there, he found a creepy outfit was felt on the floor, which made the children scream.
Hans found a note in that outfit on which it was written, “You made me angry, and you’ve got to pay for it.” And suddenly, the van driver appeared in front of Hans. Hans tries to talk to him to settle this issue, and he apologizes for his behavior. Hans made him busy talking, and Hans’s wife took advantage of this.
Hans’s wife hit the van driver from behind, which made him conscious for a while. Then Hans and the van driver engaged in a hand-to-hand combat battle. Police arrived at the house because Hans’s wife had already informed the police about the situation without letting Hans know.
The van driver and Hans fell off the window while fighting each other and directly fell into the outside basement of the house, where Hans finds out about his parents. The van driver heard the sound of the police, so he quickly hit Hans with an iron rod on the head and ran away from there. The police tried to find him, but neither he nor his van was found. After some days, Hans receives a letter that reads, “I’m still watching you,” The film suddenly ends here.
