The release date of Rent-A-Girlfriend is out and we have all the details right here for you. But before the grand reveal, let’s talk about what happened previously. It’s Mizuhara’s birthday and Kazuya, Sumi, and Mini have gotten together to celebrate it. Sumi and Mini even got her presents.
Along with the cake, the two of them had other presents as well for Mizuhara. She opened Sumi-chan’s present first, which turned out to be a cute pajama set. They ask her to try it on and Mizuhara does. Kazuya couldn’t believe how lovely she looked as his heart rate increased.
Next, Mizuhara opened Mini’s present. She had brought her makeup and it turns out that Mizuhara had always wanted those. Now, Kazuya is cornered as he is the only one who hadn’t got anything for her. What will he do now?
Rent-A-Girlfriend is written and illustrated by Reiji Miyajima and the manga’s serialization has been done in Weekly Shonen Magazine. There are thirty tankobon volumes of the manga to date. Here is a short synopsis of the story. Kazuya just got dumped and to cure his depression, he turns to an online dating app called Rent-A-Girlfriend.
He hires Chizuru Mizuhara who is a beautiful girl on the dating app. But when Kazuya learned that other customer reviews about her were low, he gave her a low rating too. This enraged Mizuhara and Kazuya got to know her temper during the confrontation.
But this did not last long as they soon found out that Kazuya’s grandmother was hospitalized. The two of them rush to the hospital to meet her. When there, the grandmother asks who Mizuhara was. In the heat of the moment, the two of them tell that they are dating each other which made Kazuya’s grandmother very happy.
Complications arise when Kazuya finds out that Mizuhara studied in the same college as him and that they are also next-door neighbors!

Mini and Sumi take their leave as the birthday party came to an end. Kazuya is berating himself for not getting Mizuhara a present. He realizes that it was late into the night and none of the shops will be open at this hour for him to get a present on short notice.
He sees Mizuhara do the dishes and approaches her. He tells her that he can do the dishes but she refuses. Mizuhara asks him how he likes the play. To which he replied that it was “really, really great”. He thought that she was brilliant and the best out there.
He wonders if he told her what she wanted to hear and gets agitated. However, she thanks him and tells him that she was going to have a bath. He gets agitated again at the thought of Mizuhara taking a bath but he controls himself the best he could and hands her something he had brought with him
It was a bunch of “Anything I Want” tickets that he made himself. He gets all nervous and thinks that he messed everything up when Mizuhara says that she didn’t want all of them. However, she agrees to take one and wishes him good night. Kazuya starts berating himself again wondering if he was an elementary schooler for giving her such a present. But he realized that she seemed happy and that’s all that matters.
