Ayakashi Triangle is a fantasy, affectionate comedic anime series based on the Japanese manga of the same name written and drawn by Kentaro Yabuki. Connect produces the show, which Noriaki Akitaya has directed.
The Ayakashi triangle opens up in modern times Japan, where we have the existence of Ayakashi. Ayakashis are the invisible ghosts and spirits that most humans can’t see, but a group of people known as the exorcists go around and exercise them.
Most of these Ayakashis aren’t that bad, but those who are more influenced by the malice of human beings can become evil, or if they get too much power, they can harm people. The main character Matsuri is one of these exorcists that go around and take them out. There’s also another character who has been with Matsuri his entire life, and that is Suzu.

Ayakashi Triangle Plot
Ayakashi Triangle follows a ninja exorcist warrior Matsuri Kazamaki as he attempts to protect his childhood companion, Suzu Kanade, an Ayakashi medium with a large amount of power, and the Ayakashi are drawn to that. Ayakashi enjoys that power, and if one is not dangerous like the one we see in the show, one will want to consume Suzu.
However, during a fight to safeguard Suzu’s life, Matsuri gets cursed by Shirogane, King of Ayakashi, and is transformed into a female. Matsuri must exist publicly as a girl for the rest of his life as he and Suzu deal with both friendly and malicious Ayakashi they encounter, as well as their developing feelings of affection for each other, all while attempting to break Matsuri’s curse and return him to his original masculine form.
It features plenty of ecchi content but does not cross into the realm of hentai. The story is cute and random, with some over-the-top moments. The characters are likable, and seeing where the story goes is interesting.

Ayakashi Triangle Story
This anime series follows a guy, Matsuri, who is a ninja and exorcist. He takes out these Ayakashi, which are Yokai Spirits. In his family, they’ve all ninjas and exorcists. He has this friend named Suzu, who he’s always been protecting, once he learns that she attracts Ayakashi.
Ayakashi is said to exist amongst us in a world unseen. For those who dare bare their fangs on humans, those in the shadows have sworn to defeat them: the exorcist ninjas!
Kanade Suzu is peacefully enjoying some dessert that she bought. However, a cat named Ayakashi, Shirogane, is about to make himself her problem. He wants to eat her, and nobody here can stop that. Here comes exorcist ninja Kazamaki Matsuri, ready to save the day.
Shirogane is insulted by this. He’s 400 years old, and this brat treats him very disrespectfully! Suzu overhears a scuffle and quickly finishes her meal to discover what’s happening. She grabs for Shirogane and “saves” him from the cruel Matsuri.
Matsuri quickly explains that what she has in her arms is not a defenseless cat but an Ayakashi, the kind only the two of them can see. As Suzu is about to leave, Matsuri intercepts her but immediately gets distracted by her thick thighs. She kicks him in the face, but he has substituted himself with a log, and still, the kick lands anyway.
Suzu is determined to take Shirogane somewhere else where he can be safe and away from Matsuri. Besides, she knows he’ll be off to do one of his exorcisms. So she might as well leave him be. She rides off with Shirogane in the front basket of her bike.
Shirogane asks about her relationship with him, and she explains that they’ve known each other since childhood. All the other kids then called Suzu a liar because they couldn’t see what she saw. It was only Matsuri who showed an inkling of kindness. The two formed a bond thanks to their ability to see ayakashi. Suzu shares that Matsuri was the only reason she didn’t hate everyone in grade school.
However, by the time they’re in middle school, he starts scaring off the Ayakashi because he is determined to succeed in his grandfather’s line of work. It has been three years since Matsuri took this job, and he has gotten used to fighting dangerous Ayakashi. His family specializes in using wind techniques to exorcise these beings.
Suzu understands the importance of his job, but she feels like Matsuri just started hating all of them, even the nice ones. High school is starting soon, and she hates how, lately, all they’ve been doing is quarreling.
Matsuri’s grandpa warns him that Suzu is in danger. Even if Matsuri thinks Shirogane has weak spirit energy, his grandfather lectures him that the more powerful Ayakashi are more well-versed in masking their true energies. Shirogane is a master of countless evil arts, ruler of all Ayakashi in this land—He is the king!
Shirogane transforms back into his true demonic-looking self. He wants to consume Suzu to become more powerful than he is now.
One of the most interesting things about this anime is that everybody in this anime is obsessed with Suzu, and they’re obsessed with her thighs.
The main character Matsuri is the way he gets turned into a girl. He defeats the cat, and he’s sealing the cat away and about to take all of its power, but the cat releases a big super seal blocker at the last minute, turning Matsuri into a girl. Matsuri is turned into a girl because the cat doesn’t want him and Suzu in some romantic thing.
The whole anime will be your typical fanservice thing where the guys turn to a girl, so now he will realize, like, Oh! I’m a girl now; I have these certain body parts, and he realizes he’s thick. Also, she goes into the guy’s bathroom because she still thinks she’s a guy.
The other funny thing is that the cat turned him into a girl, and all it did was between him, and Suzu’s relationship is like awakening something inside of Suzu because she realizes it’s still the same person. It’s interesting to see how their relationship works out and plays out. Shirogane tries to steal the scroll that seals his power, but Matsuri hides the scroll in his chest, making Shirogane’s attempt futile. Frustrated, Shirogane is chased back home, which is shameful for the exorcist families like them.
Suzu teaches Matsuri to wear certain unmentionables to assist her. Matsuri is lucky that her grandfather is friends with the school principal. It made things way easier for her to continue schooling.
What surprises Suzu the most is that he’s easily adjusted to his new body. This is because he’s mentally prepared himself to be ready for nasty surprises as an exorcist ninja. Besides, he’s pretty sure this is temporary.
In this section, Matsuri adjusts to her new body after being transformed into a girl by an Ayakashi and is lucky to be in the same class as her crush Suzu thanks to her grandfather’s connections. While she becomes popular at school and is introduced to Suzu’s friends, Matsuri is tasked with protecting Suzu from the powerful Ayakashi, Shirogane, who is seeking her out as an Ayakashi medium due to her high Haku energy. Matsuri turns to her grandfather to learn more about Shirogane and his motivations and discovers the dangers of being an Ayakashi medium.
Matsuri is distracted when she spots Suzu and fails to notice Shirogane’s spiritual energy as he steals the scroll away from her before running into the night. Despite believing that no human girl will bother to chase him while naked, Matsuri still chases after him with her ninja gear activated.
Later, Shirogane is trapped in seals by Matsuri and almost exorcized before Suzu stops her, and Matsuri decides to keep Shirogane as her pet. Matsuri guards the scroll while Shirogane stays at her home and eventually develops a love for Suzu’s handmade Kibi Dango. Matsuri senses a disturbance and finds a feather belonging to another Ayakashi, which introduces the mysterious ninja Ninokuru Soga, who is hunting down the cat Ayakashi.
Matsuri explains to Soga that she spared Shirogane out of respect for her childhood friend, an Ayakashi medium who wants to become friends with Shirogane to turn back into a boy. Though Matsuri thinks that Shirogane should be exterminated, she values her friend Suzu, who is the eye of her hurricane. Soga calls Matsuri a naïve fool and attempts to kill Shirogane with his kunai but accidentally rips Matsuri’s uniform instead, causing him to feel embarrassed and leave the scene.

Ayakashi Triangle Review
Ayakashi Triangle, created by the same creator as To Love-Ru, is an ecchi comedy with active components. The first arc was intriguing, and while it could have been improved in a few areas, such as speed and anticipation, it presented a fascinating dynamic between the major characters, enabling us to see a clear narrative development in each episode. While the climax was well done in principle, it was not fully realized.
From the start, the characters have a powerful personality, complementing the unique character designs wonderfully. In other words, most of them can give you a decent idea of their exterior demeanor just by looking at them and hearing the first thing they say.
A thorough investigation could result in a more intriguing character. There have been instances of characters undergoing less drastic transformations and having much more of their mindset and perspective on life altered, with a much deeper examination of their emotions and the process.
Suzu Kanade, the love interest, could also be given more attention. According to all the circumstances surrounding her, a lot of emotional drama might have been explored with her persona. Still, they are scarce, if at all, examined, going solely by the most shallow of advancements regarding all the situations encircling her.
Let us now discuss how entertaining the story was. Although it isn’t the greatest tale, you will be captivated by the characters and plot and the events that unfold around them. The true problem arises in the second arc when the narrative unravels.
This series chose to convey a story when it was necessary, which it was. It established a universe for the people and emotional and serious conflict. It’s completely acceptable to use comedy to fill in the general tone and interactions; it aids in falling in love with the characters, making it simpler to connect and feel more at ease with them. However, once the plot starts, the story owes itself to consider itself sincerely and do what it has suggested.
A world in which we spend most of our time in a Slice of Life humor, with a plot quietly building in the shadows, producing a reality that shows how we care, and providing a lot of weight when it all threatens to break, enabling us to experience the stakes and gravity of the plot truly. As we follow the characters on their adventure, we hope they will safeguard the life we have grown accustomed to seeing them in.

Final Verdict
This one might be for you if you enjoy a little fan service. While you’ll comprehend what they’re doing, if you’re searching for a little more expressive one, you’re in luck. It will do all of that and more. Nobody knows when it will settle down. Though you shouldn’t be too concerned, it’s understandable why it exists, as if it’s a natural response and isn’t a total turn-off if that’s not your cup of tea.
To elaborate on the narrative, it does come across as powerful. It keeps to its guns and has an intriguing idea, and with the intrinsic bond of the two major characters, it will drive its narrative forward, making it a more enjoyable product. While it will take some time, it could be beneficial in the long haul.
The only true concern regarding the characters is that a few can be excellent, while others can be boring. They’re not terrible people in any way, but some of them can come across as less than stellar as if it were one of those things you recognize but would not engage in. One of the major characters is a little strange and may not be to everyone’s liking. So getting used to individuals will take some time, but fortunately, the main couple is a strong enough pair to propel the anime forward.
The graphics and animation are particularly impressive. The hues are pleasant, but what genuinely assists is the fact that the animals/monsters are not some strange-looking, low-quality product. Furthermore, the inner elements appear to be responsible for caring for them. Not to note the peculiar manner of speaking. You’ll have to judge for yourself. The music clarity is excellent, from the effects to how everything sounds naturally—nothing to complain about there.
Gender swapping appears to be the pattern of 2023, which is a pleasant one. Give it time, and it will be considered entertaining for you.
