Yoon Dan Oh runs a guesthouse Ihwawon in the capital, where all the scholars come to attempt the exam for civil services. Jung Yoo Ha is a good friend of Dan Oh who likes to stay at the guesthouse, Kim Shi Yeol is a well-known dine and dasher, and Kang San is someone who inspires to clear the exams and is tricked into staying at the guesthouse by Dan Oh.

The Secret Romantic Guesthouse: Sum Up
The king and all the people relating to his flesh and blood were murdered. But the Crown Prince manages to run before execution and ends up at an empty place to save himself. He meets the young Dan Oh, who treats him kindly and saves him from the palace guards as he is the first person to visit her father after his death.
After a time span of 8 years, the Crown Prince was tricked into coming out of hiding, and this led to the death of a guard who tried to kill the Crown Prince. The guard was the only son of Jung Tae Hwa. He thus wishes to seek revenge for his lost son by only the death Crown Prince.

Now, 13 years later, Dan Oh is the meal ticket for the household and is running her father’s guesthouse, which is barely surviving. She tricks Kang San, a promising candidate for the civil service exam, into lodging at her guesthouse. Kim Shi Yeol also decides to stay at Ihwawon as he has no other place to be.
The two men meet Jung Yoo Ha, Dan Oh’s good friend and a scholar, and together the three get fond of Dan Oh. But there is a sudden huge debt in the name of Dan Oh’s father’s name, but she strikes a deal with the devil Jung Tae Hwa and promises him to bring the lost previous Crown Prince. On the other hand, the king fears for his heir and is obsessed with the previous Crown Prince’s death and wants him dead at any cost.
