Lauryn Lawrence (played by Saffron Hocking) has a heart-breaking story throughout the Top Boy series. She dates a few guys and transforms from a confident and funny girl to a domestically abused and depressed lady.
Lauryn gets into a relationship with Leyton, Jaq’s rival. She risks Shelly’s life after telling Leyton everything about Summerhouse and Sully’s plan to go to Jason’s funeral. Thus, Leyton goes to the funeral to kill Sully, who somehow escapes the situation.
Jaq beats Lauryn after discovering her deeds. Later, she informs Dushane and insists not to kill Lauryn. However, anyone can tell that the information will surely reach Sully. Meanwhile, angry Dushane gives money to Jaq and asks her to send Lauryn to London forever with the money.

How Lauryn Kills Curtis
Lauryn lives in Liverpool with her manipulative and psycho boyfriend, Curtis Jones, in the fourth season (Netflix’s second season) of Top Boy. He administers her phone usage, clothes, and her movements. On the other hand, Dushane does not want Lauryn in London due to her deeds.
However, Lauryn escapes from the backdoor of a clothes store while Curtis talks to Speaks about a gun deal. She safely reaches London from Liverpool in a taxi. Further, Lauryn goes to her sister, Jaq Lawrence, and asks her to stay at her new girlfriend’s, Beck, place. Jaq lies about Lauryn when she gets a call from Curtis.
Further, Curtis, Vee, and Speaks arrive in London to search for Lauryn. Curtis blackmails Shelly to give him Lauryn back, and Sully promises him to bring Lauryn back. On the one hand, Jaq waits to meet Curtis. On the other hand, Lauryn decides to handle the situation.
Lauryn calls Curtis at Jaq’s house and stabs him with a knife. Jaq calms Lauryn while Kieron, Sully, and Romy hide Curtis’ body. It is how the sisters, Jaq and Lauryn, strengthen their bond.
What Happened To Lauryn In Top Boy?
Lauryn Lawrence dies in the final season of Top Boy due to a drug overdose and drowning. In the fifth season, she gives birth to a boy and suffers from mental trauma due to the worst moments spent with Curtis. Meanwhile, Jaq feels sad for her and decides to take a break from the Summerhouse to restore Lauryn’s mental health.
Suffering from trauma and dealing with her baby, Lauryn gets a packet of drugs at her doorstep. Jaq finds Lauryn lying unconscious on the floor beside her newborn son. Thus, she examines a packet beside passed-out Lauryn, which turns out to have drugs.
Jaq advises Lauryn to get rid of drugs, go for yoga, and start a new life in the second episode. Shelly says she is ready to take Lauryn to her old job anytime Lauryn visits her. The unfortunate day arrives. Lauryn thanks Jaq for everything, fills the bathtub, names her son Jack after her sister and the best aunt in the world, and steps into the tub. None is there to listen to what Lauryn says to her son except the viewers.
Jaq returns home and heads to the bathroom after hearing a crying nephew. She discovers that Lauryn had a drug overdose and passed out in the bathtub. She eventually drowned and died. Jaq calls an ambulance, which is of no use. Thus, she only sits near Lauryn’s corpse.
After Lauryn’s Death
Jaq was busy following Sully’s orders at the beginning of the fifth season. Now, she is busy looking after her nephew with Becks. Sully and Becks insist Jaq stop selling drugs and look after her nephew because they do not want the newborn to get into the crime world.
Jaq takes some time to get over her sister’s death and steals 25 Kg of drugs from Sully’s stash to sell them and earn for her nephew. Sully and Dushane get suspicious. The former kills Kieron for lying on Jaq’s behalf. Scared of death, Jaq calls Dushane and promises to return the drugs.
Accordingly, Dushane meets Jaq at a decided place and time and tries to run with the drugs snatched from Jaq. Meanwhile, Sully reaches there and shoots Dushane, killing him to acquire the drugs. Further, Sully gets killed by a mysterious shooter.
