Let’s know Why Did Shiv Roy Change Her Mind In The Succession Finale? Think back to season one, when Kendall (Jeremy Strong) accidentally killed the poor waiter at Shiv’s wedding, or season two, when Kendall tried to murder again, this time his father.
Succession hasn’t exactly shied away from a big end-of-season twist, either. The Wambsgans betrayed the Roy children in support of Logan in season three’s finale because he always had this keen sense of where real power rested.
Those surprising endings hooked us and ensured our avid continued viewing, mostly acting as delectable cliffhangers from season to season. However, it became even more simple in the fourth and final season—a gut punch without a promise, a slap across the face in a busy bathroom, and a heart attack on a private plane.
Succession season four’s story would come to an end, but you could bet your bottom dollar that Jesse Armstrong and his writing staff would leave us with a heartbreaking parting present. Shiv chose the last Succession episode, which will undoubtedly top best-of lists for decades to come, just like Seinfeld, The Sopranos, and Breaking Bad did before it.
She learned about Lukas Matsson’s plot to deceive her and remove her from the promised role of Waystar CEO after the GoJo deal during the preceding eighty minutes of the story, and she reconciled with her brothers less than enthusiastically to combine their family influence to prevent the acquisition from happening.
However, due to his incompetence, Roman was unfit for the role, so they looked for a new, more likable ruler. Ken was referred to as CEO-elect. He consumed the meal fit for a king, which included Branston pickle, spit, and blended bread scraps. After that, the board meeting was held.
The agreement was no longer acceptable, so Ken stepped up to inform the gathered suits that Waystar Royco would perform better with a native-born boss rather than a Swede. Shiv struggled to control it.
After some grisly head-squeezing and the belligerent exchange of home truths we’ve come to expect from the Roys, she voted in favor of the arrangement against her brother’s election, condemning them all to the terrible fate of billion-dollar retirements. As is sometimes the case online, there won’t be any more Successions. Thus, rumors abound.

Why Did Shiv Roy Change Her Mind In The Succession Finale?
The only thing everybody on Succession cares about is gaining as much control and influence as they can, whether it be over presidents, elections, or even their supposed loved ones. Everyone on the show is a disgusting, self-interested a**hole.
Putting aside the girl boss politics, Shiv makes a compelling anti-hero because she is a conflicted, horrible person, much like her brothers, her dad, her mother, the Waystar lackeys, and alt-right airhead Jared Mencken. But Succession has always been primarily a family story, with arguments and bickering that just so happens to have broad societal repercussions.
This twist was stunning and eminently Succession because it perfectly captures the essence of what the show has always been about the inability of these ungrateful, wealthy losers to see one another flourish, not least to the detriment of their ambitions for power.
Shiv would rather throw the toys out of the corporate pram than watch Ken play with them because she can’t stand it. If you don’t trust us, consider the opinions of Jeremy Strong and Matthew Macfadyen, who agree with us. On HBO’s Succession Podcast, Strong claimed that Shiv would ultimately vote against Ken because she and Roman simply can’t stand for Kendall to win.
They probably find it offensive when they see him being a little haughty and self-important and putting his feet up on their father’s desk. Shiv claims this. There you go, people. Shiv simply couldn’t stand to see Ken take the loot and ride off into the sunset with the business.
