The Plot of NATURE
NATURE is a compilation of consistently stunning documentaries which possess the power to transport viewers from the comfort of their homes to distant locations stretching from the torrid plains of Africa to the chilly splendors of ice-covered Antarctica.
Primarily revolving around the animals and ecosystems across the globe, NATURE captures the wonder and beauty of the natural world, making itself, in the process, the high-placed benchmark for programs portraying natural history.
The wildlife television program, which uses the silhouette of a camel thorn tree as its logo, is produced by Thirteen, whose parent company is WNET New York, and has been distributed to public television stations in the United States by the PBS television service ever since its debut on October 10, 1982.

A comic book based on the weekly one-hour series was briefly distributed to schools and museums for free at no cost in the middle of the 2000s. Such a comic book was meant to be utilized as an educational tool for children. The first season of NATURE was hosted on-camera by Donald Johanson, while George Page lent his voice for narration in the 1982 season, and with the following season in 1983, Geroge Page began serving as both the narrator as well as the on-camera host up until the year 2000 when the nineteenth season of the series aired.
For this, series host George Page was nominated for best Outstanding Individual Achievements in Informational Programming in 1986. In fact, the series in itself won two consecutive Emmy Awards for Best Outstanding Informational Series in 1988 and 1989. Since then, episodes of the natural history documentary program have been frequently narrated by Academy Award winner F. Murray Abraham alongside ecologist Chris Morgan.
