The Nintendo Switch 2 version of 007 First Light has been delayed again, with publisher H2 Interactive removing its previously announced late-summer 2026 release window for the Japanese physical edition. The company has not provided a new date, meaning Switch 2 players now have to wait for another announcement.

H2 Interactive confirmed the change on August 31 through its official Japanese social media account, citing “various circumstances” without explaining the specific reason for the delay. The publisher said it would announce a new release date once the schedule has been finalized.

007 First Light Has Faced Multiple Switch 2 Delays

The latest change marks the third adjustment to 007 First Light’s release schedule since its original March 27 launch date. IO Interactive initially moved the game to May 27 to allow additional time for polishing, while H2 Interactive subsequently delayed the Switch 2 version separately from the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC editions.

Those other versions launched on May 27 as planned, while the Switch 2 release was moved to late summer. That window has now been withdrawn, leaving the Japanese physical edition without a confirmed date.

The situation is slightly unclear across different regions. IO Interactive’s August 20 announcement confirming that 007 First Light had surpassed 4 million sales stated that the Switch 2 version would arrive “later in 2026.” However, the same announcement still contained older references to a summer release window.

For now, the latest confirmed delay specifically concerns H2 Interactive’s Japanese physical Switch 2 edition. There has been no official confirmation that the Korean physical release or IO Interactive’s broader Switch 2 schedule has been delayed in exactly the same way.

Importantly, neither H2 Interactive nor IO Interactive has attributed the delay to Switch 2 performance or optimization problems. Any claims about technical difficulties remain speculation until the companies provide further details.
